Is "Horror Hotel" still PD, or did it get copyrighted by Anchor Bay or someone like that? It'd be a good one to show, too.

The City of the Dead or Horror Hotel as it is known in the US is owned by Drannen... which no longer exists as of September 2011, so it status is up in the air I would say.

Hey, I'm Hawk. I'm one of the co-writers of the show. Though it is mostly Blasko's baby. I appreciate everyone's support and suggestions. I really looking forward to this project.

September 8 – The Satanic Rites of Dracula
September 22 – Plan 9 from Outer Space

*-Start Halloween History of Horror Marathon, Name TBA-*

October 6 – Nosferatu
October 13 – Freaks
October 20 –The House on Haunted Hill
October 27 – Night of the Living Dead

*-Start Vincent Price Month-*

November 10 – The Last Man on Earth
November 24 – The Bat

December 8 – Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

We have a really good lineup for the first season. I'm especially looking forward to Freaks, House on Haunted Hill and The Last Man on Earth. Three classic, and often overlooked pictures. I am overjoyed and honestly surprised that Freaks was available for us.

As soon as I learned Freaks was now PD, I knew we had to show it!

For fun, here is a bit of a makeup test. Definitely not final (my head was shaved, hence the wig, and I like having a beard)

"Werewolf Vs. The Vampire Woman" is the chopped up version of "Werewolf Shadow", and I'm pretty sure it is PD. It's classic Paul Naschy werewolfery, and, still pretty darn good. It's already been stripped of all the "juice", so I don't think it would need further editing. I believe the only other Naschy PD flick is "Fury Of The Wolfman", which is easily the weakest Naschy monster flick. It is really downright wretched, and not worth your time. But, "Werewolf Vs. The Vampire Woman" is one to consider for season two.

Actually, a shaved head is a good mad doctor look.

True, but that would require me keeping a shaved head, which I don't want to do lol

So, what age are you looking to play? A young, recently-graduated M.D. who's decided to specialize in "mad science." A few years older? A lot older? There's all sorts of gags that could involve all of those aspects. Also, you could explore what drove you to become a mad doctor. "I was homeschooled. My parents felt that public schools conflicted with their religious beliefs. They were devout followers of Cthulhu, and felt public schools weren't properly equipped to nurture my insanity and homicidal tendencies. Then they started installing metal detectors and armed guards in the schools, and my parents realized they'd completely screwed up!"

It's not very specific to be honest, nor do I want it to be, at least at this stage. The basic structure of the series is that each episode Blasko tries to take over the world, and his final "gift" to mankind is showing horror and sci fi films (though his plans always go awry)

3 keys to success:  Physical comedy and bosoms.  And 'boiiing' sound effects ::)

OK, I'm kidding... but for laughs, click on this link and look for 'Jaws Boinged'...

Speaking of bosoms, here is how we will be censoring the "naughty bits"

That's a waste of two good Nosferatu heads. That girl was severely lacking in the chesticularity department. Too bad they didn't get Stephanie Beacham or one of the other top-heavy Hammer Honeys to do that part.  :'(

Well, we are going to use him every time. It was supposed to be a picture of my assistant, but when I was editing and looking through images, that image popped up and I absolutely died laughing.

Also, how do you guys feel about stage vs. green screen? Personally, I would much prefer to do everything on a set (we will probably have access to PBS's TV studio across the street), but green screen would obviously be easier and cheaper (which is what the governing body obviously wants to hear).

I don't think I'd use a green screen, unless you have plans on have the scenery changing from episode to episode (and that does have some potential as you could host from different "locations", Transylvania, the Black Lagoon, in front of the Psycho house, etc).  Cardboard scenery that falls over from time to time that needs to be fixed by a seen or unseen handyman could become a running gag.

I do like the idea about a running gag with a lawyer.  I'd think about it long before I gave him a name.  You want it to be good and you'll get one shot at it.  Hmmm...maybe don't give him a name, just referenced as "the lawyer" on the show.

Couple of thoughts.

Couple of thoughts.

One of our running gags is our complete lack of budget. Myself and Hawk want to do a cheap practical set, but based on our funding, we have no idea if we can do it.

I wrote the lawyer off after the third episode, I'm not sure if I want to change that or not. Maybe have his brother come back for revenge? Or maybe he regenerates and we kill him off multiple times :P either way, we only refer to him as the lawyer or attorney.
