Ok, Monkeyboy, this was not my quote!

OH!! I mixed up your quote and Sean's! Well, don't contradict the monkey anyway. When you can bite, you don't have to be right.  >:D
We're all here because we're not all there.

May I quote you.......exactly?

"Awesome, Charp!  I have been getting some help setting up a Flickr account (thanks, Scatter) and I will be scanning some old Halloween pics and putting them in this thread.... My lousy costumes will make you feel better about yourself, promise.  You and I can 'round out' the spectrum with our sub-par creations, OK? Wink"

Never contradict the monkey. ;)

That's ME, Scatter.  MY costumes are LOUSY.  You'll see.

If anyone's interested, You're invited to join the minions over at www.halloweenforum.com. Lots of halloween-minded folk with great ideas and suggestions - and a willingness to share with others. Its a pretty friendly group, I've never noticed a clique-ishness that often dominates forums.

Nice Nick!

Hey--perhaps a separate thread, can you share a recipe for Mud, for us  Haunters?!

OG

No really, I dug a hole in the back yard and buried my suit for about a month. Then I threw a scoop of dirt in a bucket and added some water. Just plain old mud. I had read somewhere that Fulci used plain old mud and clay to get some of his best zombie FX.

Here is a link to an e-how article I did on how to do it all step by step:

Unfortunately I did not have a lot of photos of the actual process. It is pretty easy though.

ChrisW-- You have changed my life!!  I didn't know such a place existed. halloweenforum is great!  I told my husband that I will never read another book again, I am going to read everything on this forum   :)    There are a lot more people like me out there, than I would have ever imagined.  I love reading about other people's ideas and props. Oh to walk a mile in a creative person's shoes.....  Thanks

ChrisW

Charlotte - my pleasure! That seems to be the reaction of folks who stop by - "there are others out there like me!"!!!
If you want to see a great collection of projects online check out the monster list:

And while he doesn't brag (one of his many charms) MikeC here on the UMA is one of the most inventive, original Halloween haunters around.

LOL...there actually is a compound for props, nicknamed mud, and I've been looking for the recipe! it includes Liquid latex, but I can't recall what else.

I didn't know such a place existed. halloweenforum is great!

I know of about 5 forums like the Halloween forum but none of them compare to it!  Really a great group of home haunters and some professionals that are always willing to help and discuss new Halloween prop ideas.

From projects to set up I keep all of my Halloween photos there~

Ok, zombiehorror- I looked at all your 2009 haunt pix and they were fantastic! Your yard was like a theme park!  I have a couple of questions that you probably already answered on the forum, but #1- How are those "boards" attached to your front window? I am definitely going to try that this year.... and #2-  You said you used scene setters, which I have bought in the past and had a horrible time unfolding and trying to tack up, and you used Magnets?  Did you put the peel and stick magnet tape on the back or some other way?   I ask because my garage is visible from the side of my house and I never decorate it, so it's a great idea.   :)    Also, every year I tell my husband that we need more lighting to highlight stuff and because I'm afraid somebody will fall, so I may use your yard pics in my presentation to my husband and show him the light path you made.
