These are "test" make-ups my daughter practiced on me in 2007.  Her version of Frankenstein's Other Monster.  We were gonna rig me up with a big ol' furry vest and everything, but never got to really finish the project.  Still, it was disturbing to my neighbors...  which was neat!

Ok, zombiehorror- I looked at all your 2009 haunt pix and they were fantastic! Your yard was like a theme park!

Thank you, the TOT's seem to enjoy it!

Quote from: charp13 on June 15, 2010, 04:25:33 PM#1- How are those "boards" attached to your front window? I am definitely going to try that this year....

For the upper windows, I took a wire hanger and cut 5" pieces, bent them into an "S" shape and then hooked one end threw the slate in shutters then used the existing nail hole (as these were pallet boards) to hang the board onto the hook.  The lower windows again are pallet boards (not as easy to take apart as you may think) that I laid out in the shape I wanted then used dry wall screws to attach all the boards together.  I then took that and hung it, again with little 5" pieces of wire hanger bent in an "S" but this time the entire structure is supported by the top board which rests on the hook the other end of the hook is just hooked on top of the window itself.  Hope that somewhat explains it?!?

Quote from: charp13 on June 15, 2010, 04:25:33 PMand #2-  You said you used scene setters, which I have bought in the past and had a horrible time unfolding and trying to tack up, and you used Magnets?  Did you put the peel and stick magnet tape on the back or some other way?

Nope they are not peel and stick they are just little 1/2" circular magnets that you can get in Wal-Mart's (or any hobby store I would imagine) craft section.  My original intent was to cut the Scene Setter right at the garage door sections so I could have this up the entire month and still use the garage but this was not an effective method for windy days.  I may buy some more magnets and group them closer together this year to see if it is more effective at holding it in place, otherwise I'll just keep putting it up day of as usual.

"Also, every year I tell my husband that we need more lighting to highlight stuff and because I'm afraid somebody will fall, so I may use your yard pics in my presentation to my husband and show him the light path you made."

The first 4, or was it 5?, years TOT's could only walk up the driveway to the front door but I really wanted to get them in the action so I devised the lighted path.  Even with a street light not more than 50' from the house the yard was way to dark to just let kids wander thru the yard.  The path not only keeps them...well in a path..LOL...but it also provides some ground lighting for visibility.

Thanks zombiehorror- And UP------ Yikes, I don't know what kind of make-up that is, but it's very well done!!! I turned my computer on during this horrible thunderstorm we're having ( complete with Masters of the Universe style lightning) and jumped out of my skin when I saw Frankenstein's other monster. You really know how to create a perfect setting for a viewing!  :)

This is a great thread - thanks Mitchellmania for starting it!
ZombieHorror - I've seen your posts on HF, but never checked your photo album out until now - great stuff, nice shots. Thabnks also for the explanation about the boarded up windows - I've seen them but never investigated how to hang them. They really add to the decrepit decor!
UP - great make up, your daughter did an excellent job. And that photo of you with the red eye - Man, do you look possessed!!!

I know of about 5 forums like the Halloween forum but none of them compare to it!  Really a great group of home haunters and some professionals that are always willing to help and discuss new Halloween prop ideas.

From projects to set up I keep all of my Halloween photos there~

There's something to be said for those contacts.  I have never tried wearing them.  The photo is terrific, with the ghouls in the background being blurred.

Hopefully this loads right.  If it does, you are looking at me and 2 knucklehead buddies as Dracula, the Wolf Man and Frankenstein's monster.  I am Frank.

YIKES!  I have to figure out how to make the image larger!
