When Did You Last Watch A Classic Universal Monster Movie?

The Munster's Revenge is sort of a downgrade from what us Monster kids are used to. Although I did think the Phantom shattering the glasses Marilyn's boyfriend was hilarious. It was good to see them all together again. I do feel that the film might have fared better if Sid Caesar had been left out of it.

Hmmmm...must be because it's filmed in color and lacks Pat Preist.  Other than that...it pretty much is the tv show.  Now Munsters Revenge is a whole other story.
Maybe I needed the laugh track. I couldn't figure out where to laugh without it.

I know exactly what you mean. Those are so enjoyable (unlike the Downey Jr. films).

I won't even attempt to watch the Guy Ritchie versions! I saw the trailers, and heard positive reviews, but my 'DON'T WATCH!' radar was off the scales!

Tuesday afternoon:

House of Frankenstein 1944. A good Monster fest. Love that Salter score.

There's a scene in this film that just strikes me as being funny for some reason.  It shouldn't because it is pretty sad for Daniel.

The scene takes place in Lampini's wagon. Niemann and Daniel are having this exchange -

Daniel:   Master why can't I drive part of the time?
Niemann:   Talbot bothers me with his everlasting impatience! We must get the Monster to Vasaria before further change has made restoration more difficult. The desiccation of the tissues has gone further than I thought.

While Karloff is delivering his lines - Daniel looks straight into the camera; and the look on his face is one of someone that is doomed. It's perfect because he knows that Talbot will probably snare Illonka. I know that I shouldn't laugh, but he looks like all his rabbits died.

I've just watched Dracula (1931) for the first time in awhile, this time w/the P. Glass score. It was excellent music, but sometimes repetitious & distracting (IMO). However, I didn't find the 2nd half as stagey as I had before. One of the BEST films, ever!!
