Did you also hate Famous Monsters and Shock Theater?

Shock Theater was before my time. Sorta remember Screaming Yellow Theater. Loved Creature Features.
I didn't really get into F.M until H.S in the mid to late 70's. I had a tight budget as a kid and spent my reading money on Marvel and DC horror comics.

Anything post 1970 I do not care for. Only exception is the Kenner Alien doll, which is in a class by itself😃

So....Mego Mad Monsters, AHI Universal Monsters, etc?

That's cool. There's nothing wrong with that. I love the 1960's toys too. Some folks like collecting from certain time periods. I guess it makes collecting easier as you don't have to weed through 40 years worth of toys, but the further you go back the pricier the items become, so I guess in some ways it has it's drawbacks too. To each his own.

The Kenner Alien (1979) is probably one of most coolest toys from
late 70s. Imagine seeing THAT toy in toy aisles, for the first time as
a young tike. Wow!

I know it's a holy grail for alot of folks out there, and I do like the Alien franchise, and I own alot of Aliens, but that old Kenner Alien does nothing for me.
I'll take the NECA version that they did several years back. IMHO, a much better sculpt and better execution.

And this one is really cool, but I refuse to pay over $100 for it. It's made of crappy NECA plastic, and will probably warp over time, after you take it out of the package and stand it up.

I have the NECK one, also. Neca's version is pretty rad. Did you have issues assembling the Alien? Like the legs?

LOL, he's still a MIB for me. I never took him out of the package.

On a side note, I love the 8" Predators too, but I can never figure out what to do with half of their accessories. Most of them can't be held or attached to the figures.

They just did a complete resculpt for the big chap this year.  He's fantastic.  Loaded with articulation, and much less assembly to worry about.  They're redoing predator next.

I am not a huge fan of any figures with obvious joints (which I must admit DOES encompass the vast majority of figures!). If they have clothes on (Frankenstein, Dracula, etc.) it's okay but for the "naked" ones where the elbows & knees are just "out there" for all to see, I always think takes away from the figure somewhat (which is my problem with most of the Creature figures).  There were a few figures from back in the day (like I believe the Evel Knievel figures) who managed to have "hidden" joints, the knees & elbows were inside the rubber skin material, and I've often wondered why more toy makers do not do this, at least with figures like The Creature who can't hide the joints with clothes. Now, I know that most of these figures are made of a stiff plastic and can't really flex like the Evel figures, but maybe they could make the area around the elbows & knees a rubber material to give some flexing ability.
The problem is way compounded with those figures who seem to have like 3-4 rotatable joints in each appendage, where if they are not lined up perfectly makes the biceps, thighs, etc. look way wonky.
Obviously, visible joints are no a deal-breaker with me, as I have tons of figures with visible knee & elbow joints, but I sure with that the manufacturers could make put a bit more effort into hiding them.

Also, like a previous poster, not a fan of the figures with cloth "clothes" that always seem to look very odd, like the poor guy is wearing a sack-cloth! Especially when it's a figure, again like the Creature, the mummy, King Kong, etc. who don't wear clothes. The Lincoln, AHI, Mego, etc. figures are pretty bad offenders in this area (I have them in my collection of course, but really only for their rarity & collectible value, I really do not care for them), as are some of the newer ones like the Diamond Select "retro cloth" figures.

This is what doll clothes remind me of.

The pre 70s stuff is so cheesy in comparison to Sideshow Or NECA. That was my era, but most of the toys were crappy (except Marx & Aurora).

LOL, I was never a Talking Heads fan at all, although I had a number of close friends that liked them. David Byrne was too nerdy for me. Not only did I not like his look, but I didn't care for his voice either...I was listening to hard rock when the Heads were big.

Which is why I didn't buy a number of the Diamond Universal Monster's. When I see a rotating joint cut right through the thigh muscle that about kills it for me...it looks horrible.

But, there was plenty of cool monster stuff in the '60s that wasn't figural!

I love crappy 1960's toys. Sometimes old crappy toys are cool.
