"The Zombies Of Mora Tau" (1957)
                                      -Greg Palmer

Plot: IMDB
Zombiefied sailors guard the treasure of a ship they went down with 60 years earlier. A group of sailors scoff at the legend, and decide to retrieve the diamonds from the ocean floor only to discover the hard way that there is some truth to legends.

Phantom's Review: Slightly better than average, low budget horror film. The premise is interesting, the actors do a good job and these zombies move around underwater, which is a bit different than most zombie films. The film does move very slowly and there are no real scares, but I found it to be fun, late night viewing. One bit of info for zombie fans. this film was made about 11 years before George Romeros classic "Night Of The Living Dead" so don't expect to see the marauding, flesh eating ghouls that most people call zombies now. These guys just sort of walk around and occasionally try to strangle people.

TROLL HUNTER
If you haven't seen it yet. Go buy it. It is an awesome movie. I hope they remake it in the states and they do it the justice it deserves! And throw a ton of money at it for effects.

Phantom Stranger

"The Last Exorcism" (2010)
Plot: IMDB
In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the evangelical Reverend Cotton Marcus was raised by his father to be a preacher. He agrees that the filmmaker Iris Reisen and the cameraman Daniel Moskowitz make a documentary about his life. Cotton tells that when his wife Shanna Marcus had troubles in the delivery of their son Justin, he prioritized the doctor help to God and since then he questions his faith. Further, he tells that exorcisms are frauds but the results are good for the believers because they believe it is true. When Cotton is summoned by the farmer Louis Sweetzer to perform an exorcism in his daughter Nell, Cotton sees the chance to prove to the documentary crew what he has just told. They head to Ivanwood and they have a hostile reception from Louis's son Caleb. Cotton performs the exorcism in Nell, exposing his tricks to the camera, but sooner they learn that the dysfunctional Sweetzer family has serious problems.

Phantom's review: Some of these documentary/Lost footage style movies are quite good ("Cloverfield", "rec") and some are a major pile of crap.
Unfortunately "The Last Exorcism" falls into the second category. While the acting is good, this film goes nowhere fast. Absolutely no scares or suspense and a terribly anti-climatic ending. A total waste of time.

I couldn't agree with you more. The previews of the film were scarier than the film itself.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

A pretty effective movie. Even by today's standards.

Corpse Bride (2005)- a descent horror themed family movie. Not as good as nightmare before christmas, but still ok.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)-A 50s sci fi classic!!
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

- Star Trek - The Motion Picture (haven't seen this since I first saw it on VHS, not a big Trekkie fan but I liked it)

- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (my cousin took me to see this in the theaters. Because of that I have a soft spot for this one)

Caught these on TV on a lazy Labor Day.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."
