Saturday family movie night consisted of Hell Night!

Moonshadow

"Season of the Witch" (2010)

Ah yes, Nicolas Cage. An actor of maddening inconsistency. Here he plays a crusader who is coerced into taking a girl suspected of being a witch and causing a plague to stand trial at a monastery. It's not a great movie by any stretch, but it's certainly not as terrible as I had heard. Neither Cage nor Ron Perlman seems comfortable with their dialogue, which flips back and forth from some imagined 14th century lingo and modern swear words. Still, there are some enjoyable moments, ones that have a real Dungeons and Dragons feel to them. Good enough for a rental.

DEAD/ALIVE( actually no).      Dawn of the DEAD(1978),Day of the DEAD(1985)
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Phantom Stranger

"The Devils Hand" (1962)
                       -Robert Alda

Plot: IMDB
Rick Turner is engaged of Donna Trent and is having nightmares with a beautiful blonde woman dancing in the sky. One night, he is mysteriously driven to a doll shop, and in the next morning he returns to the place with Donna. He finds a doll that resembles his fiancé, but the owner Francis Lamont delivers another doll to him, with the face of the woman of his dreams, Bianca Milan. Rick looks for Bianca and is seduced and convinced by her to join a sect that worships the diabolic Camba, while the health of Donna is threatened by Francis .

Phantom's Review: Dear Gods! What a DULL movie. the acting is fine and it's shot very nicely, but it absolutely goes nowhere. No thrills,no suspense, just a very long 80 minutes. skip  this one

The Black Hole. Hadn't watched it since i was a kid. Its amazing how cheesy everthing is now. Still a good show though. If you haven't seen it in awhile give it a shot.
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

Since we were shut in over the weekend:

- The Invisble Man (sadly this was the first time I have seen this since I was a kid. Still good after all these years)

- The Bride of Frankenstein

- Son of Frankenstein

- Lemora: Lady Dracula

- Insidious (I liked this one. A pretty good ghost story with a few new twists. Cool Poltergeist nods)

- Priest (Also liked this one. Not familiar with the comics, but I would watch part II)
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.
