"IT, The Terror From Beyond Space"

50's "B" sci-fi doesn't get much better than this. I had never seen it before, and our own Elizabeth said I had to see it. She was right. It's on NetFlix streaming, so get it while you can!!

never seen it before?! One of my favorites. A 50s style rocketship, big scary monster -just add popcorn and you've got perfection!

By the way, your new avatar is throwing me for a loop every time I see it, I keep thinking all your posts are from Sean. And now I see Charp is in on the fun too-sheesh!

Yeah, yeah, I get it....I just get confused when folks change their avatars. I have a hard enough time putting together names and faces in real life, let alone on a board!

BTW, saw Jaws a few years back on the wonderful, BIG SCREEN at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, my first time seeing it in a theater. Everyone jumped and screamed when that head popped out of the sunken boat! It was awesome.

Red Riding Hood. If a movie can make Gary Oldman suck, you know it's pretty bad.

Girly.
I loved this movie.
Had no idea what it was, I streamed it from Netflix without reading what it was about.
So good.

Lol it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen in theaters.  The gf and I saw it and left stupified how something so horrible could have ever been filmed

ALIEN III the directors cut. This is definately the best version of the movie! I can't believe how much they acctually cut out of the theatrical release.
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

"Five Million Years to Earth" (1967): Thank you TCM! Oh how I have wished I could get this on DVD. This British sci fi film (also titled "Quatermass and the Pit") is smart, edgy, and fun. While digging out a new tunnel for the London subway, a strange object is discovered. It turns out to be a 5 million year old spaceship. It's hard to summarize the rest, but it involves alien experiments on proto-humans and unleashed psychic phenomena. Well worth your time.

Phantom Stranger

"X The Unknown" (1956)
                          -Dean Jagger

Plot: IMDB

British Army radiation drills at a remote Scottish base attract a subterranean, radioactive entity of unknown nature that vanishes, leaving two severely radiation-burned soldiers... and a "bottomless" crack in the earth. Others who meet the thing in the night suffer likewise, and with increasing severity; it seems to be able to "absorb" radiation from any source, growing bigger and bigger. What is it?? How do you destroy a thing that "feeds" on energy?

Phantom's Review: Produced by Hammer Films in the late 50's. this is an entertaining little Sci-Fi thriller. Well acted and written (by Jimmy Sangster) The monster is a little reminiscent of  "The Blob" but that's okay it doesn't take away from the film. Nothing classic, just a solid well made movie.
