I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

JAWS
One of my favorites. And always on the fourth.

Alien resurrection. It had been a long time since I watched this one. Oh yeah, And now I remember why. They ruined a good franchise With it. What a disaster.  Oh well at least the first three are still phenomenal.
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

The Toolbox Murders(1978), The Crazies(
1973) both classic horror and fun for the whole family.
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Wicked Lester

I had planned to do some stuff around the house but got sucked in yesterday into the Twilight Zone marathon on Syfy. For about 4 hours.

Good stuff

I wrote about the most important American horror film for July 4th and that was Frankenstein(1931), which I also watched again. I also watched The Mummy(1932) and a handful of other classic films.

Phantom Stranger

"Return To Oz" (1985)
                     -Fairuza Balk

Plot: IMDB
It has been six months since Dorothy has returned home from Oz and she still cannot sleep. She has been going on about imaginary places and people so much that Aunt Em takes her to see a doctor. She promptly escapes from the mental hospital and wakes up in Oz where her pet chicken, Billina, can now talk. There she meets a whole new bunch of friends and they set off to rescue the Scarecrow from the evil Nome King who has found her ruby slippers and used them to lay waste to the Emerald City and take over Oz.

Phantom's Review: Based on the second and third "Oz' books. this film is far darker in tone than the 1939 classic musical. But it's a good film in it's own right. Unfairly  compared to the Judy Garland film this movie is a more faithful adaptation of the L. Frank Baum novels. Very entertaining and a bit scary. I think the film is worth watching, just don't expect any singing or dancing.

City of the dead. Aka- HORROR HOTEL.   (1960)  "Superstition, fear, and jealosy." -Christopher Lee. If you havent seen it yet go get it. A definate Must see movie!
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

general gruesome

batteries not included (1987) - one of my personal favorites about tiny-flying saucers from outer space who help tenants in a run-down apartment from a greedy property developer and his goons. This movie gives me a good feeling inside when it's finished, as do most of Spielbergs' films

The Invisible Ray

My first time seeing this film...right up there with The Black Cat!  I might even like The Invisible Ray a little bit more for some strange reason (maybe it's because Bela and Karloff are a tad bit more likable in that film)

The Frighteners (1996) I always liked this flick, still do!

Laid to Rest, watched this one last night!  Give it a whirl if you dig slasher flicks; had some really good kills, especiall since the killer pretty much uses the same weapon throughout; acting was so-so but watchable.

The Living Dead Girl; another Jean Rollin flick and again I liked it.

I was on a roll with the Jean Rollin flicks so I started watching Two Orphan Vampires; Wow?!  Jean, buddy what the hell happened?  This thing was completely unwatchable!  Two vampire chicks babbling about who knows what, flashbacks about their previous deaths that made little to no sense, more babbling, blah, blah, blah!  Watched maybe 15 min and gave up.

On to The Nude Vampire...I know right from the title it hooks you well it was crap as well?!?  It actually started out pretty cool, got me wondering just where it was going.  Well it went nowhere the trippy beginning was followed by more trippy sequences but with nothing to hold them together.

Now I'm on Requiem for a Vampire and this one I'm actually enjoying though it really goes heavy on the soft core porn; I mean the other flicks had their share of nudity but this goes way over board!
