The Sonic Blaster was also used as the Batzooka in the 60s "Batman" movie and tv series.

David.

I noticed that as we have Batman televised on the weekends and on the TV bumper they use there is a clip oh him using the sonic blaster--way cool

Looks like new guy may give him a run for his money  8)

Probably not as I only have a couple of odds and ends now, 99% sold a long long time ago, alot of it when I decided not to do a book and still sell every once and a while when someone asks me for something specific and I can find it from a dealer or collector (my buddy expressed an interest in a boxed Great Garloo so I found one for him as I know it would make him happy).

I am always amazed at how the value went up on some of the items we love , back in the 70s anywhere you looked you could buy bond briefcases MIB for well under $25 most of the better bond or uncle toys went $25 or under (full retail from dealers) Aurora kits were dirt cheap as well as GI Joe & Capt Action, 90% of the space stuff boxed also fell into the same price range.  On many of these items you could find unopened cases and wouldn't even buy them as they were so common and abundent.

Funny world collecting as you never know what will pop up ,  dont think the deals are all gone on this stuff , a couple of years ago a friend of mine told me about a toy deal and wanted me to get it for him so I bought a batch of Matt Mason stuff (still boxed) as well as orig carded Colorforms aliens for him so the deals are still out there..

So should we understand that you were already collecting baby boomer toys back in te seventies? When did you sell them all, and what prompted you to do so?

I always loved toys from a child up (never lost my appriciation of them or the great memories they bring ) but was not a collector back then just a seller who's interest was in the area of toys.  Later on I started to collect things I had liked as a child & was thinking of doing a book or series of books.    Never did it then decided to travel so sold off most of it in the late 80s-90s .  I still occasionally look for things at shows , flea markets , sales ,etc for people I know when they ask me but pretty much nowadays I just love to read and post memories of these fun times and goodies.

Did you advertise in Toy Shop? Did you sell any Mad, Mad, Mad Scientist Laboratories, SPP monster wallets or Revell "Big Daddy" Roth Iron-On transfers?

Flower...I spoke to a woman just the other day that had a skunk living under her door stoop. She called the Wildlife agency here in Kansas and learned that there is a skunk season...and that to kill one out of season was against the law.....skunks are such rascals!

And you wonder why you never get any trick or treaters ...  ;)

Never had any of those but was offered the monster lab a few times about 5 or 6 yrs ago but never got one, are they expensive or hard to find toys now? .

here's a pic of the Monster Lab from the web (what a cool toy and box)

I remember the haunted house by Ideal and the marx battery one (never had either one but thought they would be fun to get one day)

pics from the web

I love looking at the pics of these old toys as I am sure most people here feel the same as well.  They really bring back the memories and times long gone.

Thank you for posting the links I started to read a few and they are wonderful memories of the past.

Getting skunks (or other feral critters) out from under your porch is easy.

Just find a European deli or grocery.  Make sure they sell Scandinavian foods. Buy a small piece of Lutefisk, take it home and toss it under the porch.

Within about 24 hours, the critters will vacate the premises.

Then all you'll have to do is find a way to get the Norwegians out from under your porch! ::)

I think that the way you get the good folk from Norway out is to announce that the folks down the road are serving haggis for breakfast .. oops .. sorry that only works for Glaswegians.  I really should wear my glasses early in the morning.

Really like BigBud's Defender Dan.

Here's a kids toy machine gun that is styled after the old WW1 Marlin's and Colt "potato diggers". It's a very old 1920's or 1930's Boy's Carpentry article giving instructions of how to make a toy crankfired, hopper fed, tripod mounted machine gun. It utilizes a spring that a cam on the crank hande causes to be pulled back while a dowel piece of wood drops down in front of the piece being held in tension by the spring, and when the piece falls off the cam, it springs forward slapping the short wooden dowel "bullet" down the tube barrel. The hopper feed is made from a flattened out tin can. Everything is easy to find to make this neat toy gun. The pictures in the article and instructions explain it much better than I can. The article is a two page article, so be sure to click "continue" or whatever to see the conclusion of the instructions and article. but you can also read other articles if you search that site's link.

Anyway, here's the  article's link. http://chestofbooks.com/home-improvement/woodworking/Carpentry-and-Mechanics-For-Boys/Chapter-XVII-A-Toy-Machine-Gun.html#.Us4pg_vleSp
