Jack Davis did a lot of work for Topps in 1959. Here are pictures of some of my cards from the "Wacky Plaks" set:

And here are pictures of some of my cards from the fabled "You'll Die Laughing" set:

I also have the five cent wrapper:

But not the box:

Wow, I'm floored. Jack Davis was a huge influence on me, this stuff is incredible.

Ditto.  ;D

I love the You'll Die laughing cards -- only have a few of them --  but love his color work.

I'm looking forward to the IDW Artist Edition MAD volume, which will have some Davis selections -- and their dedicated Davis volume of EC art -- pricey books -- but I'm sure they'll be worth every cent.

I think I need about 6 You'll Die Laughing to get the whole set, and probably another 4 I should upgrade.

I recently got the Davis book that came out last year and, while it's full of great stuff, I was a little disappointed by it. Maybe it's because he's done so much, but I would've like to have seen more of his work for Topps in there. Also, it commits the (my opinion) mistake--which is popping up in a lot of websites--of showing panel cartoons without the captions. The intent is to always "focus on the art" but part of whether or not the art is successful is whether it works with the caption to complete the joke!

That's absolutely correct. A comic artist's job is not to draw pretty pictures; it's to tell a story with his drawings.

Is Lunatic Binge 2 actually about Jack Davis or did he just illustrate the cover?

???

I'm not familiar with the magazine.  The cover just caught my eye.

There are 3 of these on eBay right now.  You might try asking one of the sellers.

Jack Davis actually did quite a bit of work for Topps in the late fifties and early sixties. He did the illustrations on the backs of many Topps Sports cards:

1960-61 Hockey

1964-65 Hockey

(Not all by Jack Davis.)

That's not Jack Davis artwork though. The main part of that cover is by Norman Mingo with Harvey Kurtzman and Will Elder being the fellows responsible for the border.
