I had Bulldog Bootcamp at the crack of dawn this morning . . . grabbed some breakfast . . . and am currently watching CRY OF THE BANSHEE on cable.

Elizabeth

Zoikes, Gillmanfan... is that bootcamp thing indoor or outdoor? This weather is brutal for trying to exercise.  I got an earlier start for my 3 mile walk this morning, hoping to avoid some of the heat, but came home all sweaty anyway.   :P

Gillman-Fan

Outdoors at 6:00am . . . rain or shine.

Being a horror film fan sorta helps one prepare for such things, perhaps? A nice round of Roger Corman/Poe films would go well with this program.

Gillman-Fan

It's basically torture, so, yeah.

A better comparison would be being forced to watch "HeartBeeps" 10x in Clockwork Orange-style restraints.

It was a hot day to be up on a building ripping a roof off, Icemannn... although maybe cooler down in the city.  It was nasty in the 'burbs.

We had a heat index warning out by me today-- so I got up at 5am to run appliances that make heat, and hopefully do my part to conserve the energy grid.  I cooked a bunch of entre dishes to leave with my husband while I am at Monster Bash.  He works outdoors, and can work up an appetite, so I wanted to leave him with plenty... roast chicken, pork roast and a pot roast today.  (Chicken tonight, for those who are curious.)  Cooked up a mess of potatoes for a potato salad.  Ran the washer and dryer, and then went for my 3 mile walk... before 9:30am.  That part of the day was productive! The rest of it has been spent trying to keep cool, drinking lots of water, checking on our two moms (who are older and alone) and taking some whacks at packing for Monster Bash, PA this weekend.

I wish this humidity would let up!  :P

The Ohio Valley is like Sumatra some summer days.  "Confound this fog!  Hey, Charlie, I wish you'd make your soup as thick as this."  When I was a kid (when dinosaurs ruled the earth), we didn't have "heat index" temps reported, and I'm pretty sure hearing that the "heat index makes it feel like 105" has a psychological effect that actually heats us up just to hear it.  Anyhow, I got a few weeds pulled and then ran errands and had lunch with Cuz at the Korean place, and came home to start packing for the Bash con.  Got checks/m.o.'s cashed so I can get autographs for a couple of the guys here who can't go but who both need Gary Conway to sign some stuff.  Conway is a highly respected artist, I've read.  Wonder if I can eventually have one of his paintings hanging on my wall?  I suspect his work costs major bucks.  Well, it's a conversation starter when I see him, at least.

Speaking of being HOT, today the AC quit working, the workers are supposed to be here in the morning to fix it.
I hope they arrive on time, so I dont have to wait long, I have an appointment with the Doctor at 3:30, I hope he can give me some meds to kick this cough of mine.
I'm sitting here dripping with sweat, have the fans on, but they arent much help.
Today was just another day, nothing special happened, looking forward to have the AC back on.

Robert, I think you are right about heat indices! When I read that or hear it, I just FEEL hotter.  I am glad to report that I too made inroads on Bash packing yesterday! :)  I've pulled my copy of Scarlet Street #17 from Winter of '95, with a Gary Conway interview in it (and Teenage Frankenstein on the cover) to have signed at the Bash.

Dr. G, I hope your physician is able to help you soon, and hope your AC gets repaired soon as well.  We don't have our bedroom window unit installed yet, and are doing without here, so I feel your pain.

ScaryTerry, glad to know SOMEONE is having fun out there! Sounds like a great night! ;-)

I rushed through everything I had to do today so I could go swimming.  Dang it!  It started to rain.  He he he  I was afraid I'd get wet, so I didn't go swimming!  It was thundering here, too.  We had a high heat index, too.

Elizabeth, you are so nice to your hubby, making things for him to eat while you're gone.  I never do.  I figure that my hubby is a grown man and if he can't get himself something to eat while I'm gone, he should starve!  I'm a real meanie!

Woke up at about 7 after about 2 hrs of sleep due to paperwork and such. Hit the gym with my eyes on slits and pumped out a bi/tri routine and some crunches...went to the realtor to do some business, then a few other places. Was on the phone with the health dept for my county to get these damn dumping permits for my truck and called it quits at about 5. Drove up to my partners garage and swaped trucks because I have a small cleanout tomorrow morning...just a few couches going to the dumps. Now, just checking the UMA, enjoying the fact that UPS came and delivered the Wave 5 set of G.I. Joe vehicles...about to take an Ambien and nod off!

Been up since 3 am seeing my wife off to the airport to LA on business (she'll be back on Sunday). Past tired.

This was after seeing Beyonce last night till about 12. Not a big fan of her music, my wife is of course (she had 2 free suite box tickets), but I am a big fan of HER! LOL! (my wife is very cool and it's all in good fun). Went to work from 8-6 outside at my summer job (90+ degrees), did some errands/chores afterwards, checking out the UMA and heading to bed soon.

Getting ready for a triple feature sometime this weekend with no interruptions! Wolf Man, I need your channel on! It's Man-Cave heaven!

Seriously, all playing aside, I do miss her.

Yesterday was a long hot day, AC repairmen never showed up, we got so hot, I decided to turn the AC back on.
It was a miracle, it started working again, dont know why or how, dont really care as long as it continues to work.
Went to the Doctor, he said it was just a bad case of my Allergies and gave me some meds to take for it.
Got home and had some family members come over and we made homemade icecream, we had Chocolate and Vanilla with butterfingers.

Today we went to Wal-mart and did a little shopping, and then on to clean the church.
Came home and are now resting, tonight we will watch "The Devil Commands" with Boris Karloff.
