Those that knew better didn't bid, they just watched probably just shaking their head, I find it hard to believe that it actually brought what it did.

Be curious to see if the buyer outs themselves on FB.

I suppose it's possible that somebody has a good head and mechanism, with a messed up body?

Hi Mike.  The only thing is,  the car body on the fake wolfman isn't the same body that the real ones have,  unless it gets an entire new paint job, and the mechanism wind-up is located in the back of the car on real ones. Usually these cars come with a clown or a type of circus head or maybe a generic "people" type head, it's so easy to just pop it off and put something else on.

That part isn't even real? Who the hell paid $400 for this piece of crap!?

Hey Mike.  Yea, if you look at the painting on the wolfman car, you'll see it's quite different from an authentic monster car from this series.  And the actual wind-up key actually sticks out the back of the car around the trunk area.  Your guess is as good as mine as to who paid over 400 for this thing!!

Mike,  also,  that wolfman fake had wheels that made it go,  the authentic monster cars had actual metal "feet" on the bottom that made them move.

It was a "hopper".

Mike,  there's something else that needs to be said here,  one must realize that those of us who have been collecting for a while, as well as maybe being a bit older in regards to actually remembering these very toys in "our" youth,  there are a lot of collectors who might not know enough about a particular piece that is reproduced in the exact image of an original,  as well as something like this piece,  a total made-up fake,  if they weren't around years ago to actually know better with once having an original piece that would be in question.  Also,  these cars you really don't see that often either,  they are truly scarce items,   put all that into the mix and it might be easy(and unfortunate) for a "newer" collector to get taken or burnt.  I admit, I really don't know all too well some of the newer monster pieces like the more vintage stuff,  I'm sure I passed opportunities with newer items that seem to be obscure.   But with all that,  if I see something questionable, or downright dishonest,  I'll surely try to bring it to attention on here, can't guarantee though that I'll spot them all.  And I'm quite sure that there are a ton more people on this site that have superior knowledge over me with some of these pieces too.

And therefor shouldn't be paying a lot for something they know nothing about. Maybe $400 is chump change to this guy. Who knows?

If you look at the finished auction, the final price was very close to 500, if you add in shipping along with tax, it's well over 500. Just think,  that money could have been put against something really nice!!

Dr.Terror

At the stsrt of the auction I asked ther seller what material the head was made of.  He said the same plastic  as the car body..   my biggest red flag just upon first glance was how cleanly painted the Wolfman head was.

It wasn't one of the original pencil sharpener colors?

Hi Mike.  The head was painted brown,  it could have been a re-done sharpener, or maybe a head from one of those "monster men" bagged figures, sort of like the monster niks, but the cheaper or more common version of these.

Looks exactly like it, to me!
