Here's my take on The Mummy and The Creature. The Mummy became sort of a Mummy / Invisible Man hybrid and The Creech is a bit out of his "element".
These are charcoal on Canson paper 20 x 26 inches.

I work on a middle gray, slightly rough paper (Canson). The media consists of Conte sticks (both black and white), compressed charcoal, charcoal pencils, and sometimes a touch of Rembrandt dry white pastel to bring out the highlights.
I try to get a good bit of the black situated before working the white into the mix. I smooth virtually the entire surface with my fingers as I go along. Guess that makes this "digital" art.  Anyway, that's how I achieve the consistent surface. It's quite labor intensive. This one's called "Impending Flux". I took a bit of inspiration for the face from Barbara Steele.

I've done a lot of color work, but I've been on this B&W kick for awhile.

Rendered in oils except for the guitar which was completed in acrylics because I needed it to dry yesterday!
