Thanks, Chris. Most of my work is "unpublished", although some of it can be seen in four recent volumes of "Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art" (11 thru 14 I think) by Underwood Press. One piece was used as a cover for "Avenue X and Other Dark Streets" by Nancy Collins. And I did an interior piece for Sunglasses After Dark for the same author. I've shown the work at DragonCon in Atlanta a few times. But I'm still flying under the radar. UMA members have provided the most feedback I've had lately! Thanks guys!

Nice Yngwie, Mike. Yes, his fretwork is indeed monsterrific. I wonder what it would look like if you could paint his notes as they fly through the air!

I would definitely need a bigger canvas to do that!!  :D

Thanks,
Mike

Okay, here's my latest. I literally could not have done this one without the help from our own Danny Roebuck, who supplied me with the reference shot. Thanks again, Danny; you're the best!!

This was done as a Christmas gift for a friend of mine.

Thanks for looking!

Here's one I had fun with. I wanted a backdrop for a display I was doing at DragonCon awhile back. My goal was to do a circus or sideshow banner style. So I painted this on a sheet of unstretched canvas with acrylic. I even put grommets around the edges. It's been rolled up for a couple of years, due to a lack of display space (it's about seven feet wide). Now it adorns (or defaces!) the wall in my office at The Art Institute of Atlanta.
Those art historians among you will notice my take on a bit of Botticelli.
Cheers, Dan H.

Beautiful work, all!

Might as well get the nerve to post some of my doodlings...

First, a pen sketch of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, as a young student in the novel 'Wicked':

She's sort of a monster, right?

At any rate, now to an autumn desktop I made with my little graphics tablet:

Another desktop (I love that tablet!), this one's called 'Dead of Night':

And my cartoon tribute to Uncle Forry, from the RIP thread; I figured it fit here too.

Not enough monsters, no robots or spaceships, but I did it the moment I heard of his passing and was in a monster frame of mind.

Thanks for letting me share.

Mike C.
