Your King Zor looks shiny new and magnificent! Is it complete? Is that the original box in which it came?

???

Unfortunately no. It was a little beat up when i got it, it took some clean up work and a few minor repairs, but I got it looking pretty nice. I am missing the gun and the box. Theres a nice looking gun on ebay right now, but they are asking $150 for it, and I can't bring myself to pay more for the gun than I did for King Zor himself! I will track one down one day though.
Do you like monsters? They're my only weakness...

So I Got My Jakks Dracula and Wolf Man today and both are pretty decent.

DRACULA[/B]

Dracula is not an "Un-Dead-On" Likenesss of Lugosi but it is a much closer resemblance than that of Diamond's current offerings.
My Only complaint regarding the Dracula package is the Loose dirt for the Resting Box Dracula lies in. i'm sure they were trying to keep things authentic by having a "box of his native soil in which he must rest by day" but honestly, I think we could've done with a simple faux dirt "bed" showing the impression made by his body rather than a bag of Loose dirt that might get knocked off the shelf and scattered all over the floor.
THE WOLF MAN[/B]

Now The Wolf Man  I have no such complaints about. the Likeness is fairly dead on for the Wolf form He comes with a photo-background same as Dracula but It get's in the way of the Full Moon/half Moon Background that attaches to the base (As it is. It's a great Background for the Sideshow Wolf Man)
Mrs, Niles:two leading men are fighting over me right now!
Costello: Who are they? Frankenstein and Dracula?

I think the Jakks stuff is unfairly maligned. To me, they seemed like real playsets for kids featuring the monsters. If I were a kid when these came out I would have been over the moon.
The figures are a nice size and sturdy. I love Sideshow, and think their figures are the gold standard for likeness, but they don't hold up to play very well.

Also, the Jakks items were clearly made by true monster kids.

But which monster kids! I've tried and tried to find any info on who the line director was, the name of any sculptor or individual working on it, and have continually come up with nothing. Kniw anyone who was there at the time?

I agree with you that they are fun toys, made for play. It's a shame they weren't able to market the line better.

Hmmmmm?  That's a great idea.  I guarantee if I opened my "loose dirt" bag, that's exactly what would happen!  I might try to rig up an "impression" deal like you mentioned.

Either way, great display!!
