Wolf Man

Count Zirock, I hope Ignatz will come out of this doing well.  I know its hard not to worry.

Not sure if any of you remember Buddy, the last cat I rescued from Kuwait.   I rescued two actually but Buddy was the last and I brought him home with me when I returned.  We just adopted two kittens and my wife was working on integrating them to our other two Kuwaiti cats.

Well, here is the result:

Seems little Buddy has become the little Kittens adopted "mother".  Buddy is the most loving cat my wife and I have ever known.  He is tender and affectionate all the time.  He is always curious about new people and always friendly.  He runs up to say "hi" to the postman through our glass door.  He is also extremely smart.  He listens and will obey commands with eagerness just like a dog.  As for the kittens, well, the pictures show he has taken to loving on them, protecting them and generally taking good care of them.  They "LOVE" him to death.  Never seen a male cat have that much parental instinct even though he has none of his own.  He is one of a kind, an amazing example of a cat.

I am now serving in the South Pacific with the Fire Department again and miss that little guy something fierce.  He always slept by my head so all through the night he could be touching me.  I would often wake up to find him either licking my face or playing all over my legs.  He loves to play with his little puffs.  He will play catch with you just like a dog and chase after them to fetch.  He also knows when it is bedtime and gets impatient for me to hit the bed.  If I go into a room and shut the door he will meow until I let him in.  He hates not having access to me at all times.

Just thought I would share.

Thanks for sharing .. Buddy is great.

I've found that many 'fixed' male cats will often take kittens or young cats under their wing.

Thanks, he is.  I believe he is so appreciative of a good homelife that he is just in awe how good his life is now.  My wife says he won the Kitty lottery by finding me.

Wolf Man, that's awesome. And, thank you for your service.
Ignatz is home now. I have to give him pain meds every 8 hours, and he gets his last anti-inflammatory tomorrow morning. He seems to be adjusting to the missing teeth just fine. Still some swelling in his face, but they said it's gone down a lot from what it was yesterday and this morning.

Don't you just hate giving meds to pets?  I feel like I am harming them and I hate that feeling.

I know what you mean... I had to drop my Dobie Chaney off at the vet this morning bc of two infected ears. I feel terrible for her bc she has been up the last two nights moaning and being uncomfortable... poor girl... but she didnt feel bad enough to NOT lick on everyone at the Vet!!!!

The swelling has gone down from Ignatz's face, and he seems to be adjusting to chewing on just one side. The inflammation has gone down in his throat, and his "meow" is back to normal, at last. Hopefully, this will end my two cats' health issues for awhile!
