OK  breathing new live to a really old thread from the  Yahoo days, there seems to be a lot of people with cats and other critters in here so here is a thread for them.

Here are a couple of mine

Halloween Jack-o-lantern Pumpkinsauce

Fluffy the tarantula

Buddy the Argentine Tegu

Pandora the 20' reticulated Python

OK buddy is now hanging out at the facility and not at home anymore since we got Halloween and Pandora is a permenant resident at the facillity  with the rest of the herps.

I love cats and herps!  Not much on spiders, though.

Meek

Here is the lad himself, Ralphie Scissorpaws, Esq. "Have Claws. Will Travel."
He also goes by "Herr OberstInspektor" and "The Ralphenator" since he patrols the area on a daily basis(he also goes by "Stinky" but doesn't want that known)
"Ralphie" is the name he answered to after several choices tried--so that must've been his name in the first place. "Scissorpaws" comes from the fact he has very sharp claws--and knows how to use them--if you look close you can see his dueling scars on the tips of his ears.

"Meek"(the naming of cats is a serious matter)

"the naming of cats is a serious matter"
Oh indeed it is, Halloween was her given name when we got her, but as all the fancy cats seem to have long fancy names Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkinsauce was added to make here feel special (or so I am told).

She is my familiar, not that I prescribe to any specific religious views or affiliations, but I know  people and places that deal in such matters.  And she came from a store that does just that, which I suppose makes her an official familiar.

Three years ago, after several decades of beloved dogs, I rescued two barn kittens from the jaws of marauding raccoons (Literally--the black and white one was IN a raccoon's mouth--and when I slung the door open, it dropped her and ran away).  I never thought I'd keep cats in the house, but I soon turned the place over to these two Cat Girls, and they let me live here, too.

Lucy, aka Luci-fur, aka Lucy Karloff--when the cats were tiny kittens, I showed Sara Karloff photos of them and she immediately declared, "That black and white one is MINE!"  So although I raise her, feed her, clean up after her, she has become Sara's cat, Lucy Karloff.

Sally, aka Sallery, aka Sal-My-Pal--is the "dog-cat", who follows me, helps me with chores, carries away my pens and screwdrivers, and sleeps at the foot of the bed.

And during a rare Peaceable Kingdom moment:

OK, since we're in new digs here and have some new members who haven't heard me drag this out previously, I'll repeat this silly story.  I had told Sara Karloff that I found a little red fez for sale (in Archie McPhee, it was) and I thought her dog would look good in it.  She said, oh, no, my dog would not like that--"but I wish you'd get fezzes for the cats!"  So I did.  And--with difficulty (anyone who has tried to make a cat wear a hat knows it is not a process that makes the cat happy)--I stuck the fezzes on the cats and got photographs of 'em.  Sara thought they were a hoot, but commented that the cats didn't look extraordinarily good-tempered about it.  lol  I said, "Just look what you made me do!  You encouraged me to embarrass my cats!"  Sara replied:  "Well, I come from a long line of fez-encouragers--just look at my dad in THE MUMMY!"

Here is Lucy Karloff in her Mummy fez:

And here is sister Sally, putting up with it slightly better...

Gene was surely a handsome amber fellow!

Do you know the Don Marquis piece about the old theatre cat whose forbear jumped down and played Joseph Jefferson's beard when it fell off during a performance of RIP VAN WINKLE?

The Phantom Creep

First we have our crazy chihuahua Bela...

Then there's our Bourkes parakeet Maila (as in Maila Nurmi aka Vampira)...

Can you spot the bird in this photo?

Great thread. I can't resist including our two Devils, or as they're known around here Satan's Pussies.

That's Indiana on top and Kismet flashing his evil eyes.

And behaving better, mainly because it's a PhotoShop composite. Indy in the foreground (that cat's got some ears on him) and Kismet slightly disturbed from his nap.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.
