Looked up more info on the TX Goat-man, and came across other sightings.  Prince George County, Maryland in the `50's and `70's.   Louisville, Kentucky during the `50's.   Smith Mills, Kentucky during the `70's.   Damn it Doc, now I'm getting hooked on this Cryptozoology bit.

For those of you who do not know this story, it is an old folk lore. Lake Worth is next to Ft.Worth, TX. I use to leave near here. I had heard the stories my self of a half goat, half man creature lurking on a tiny little island in the lake.

But, what doesn't end up in these stories is the fact that Carswell Airforce base is off the same lake, 1/2 mile away. Carswell AFB is one of the locations where the supposed "Rosewell" UFO and ET had ended up. Have anything in common???

Another clipping I came across.

It was probably not half goat-half man. It was likely just some lonely Texas redneck shagging a goat.

My wife grew up in a very haunted house, asateen back around 1983 my family regulalry saw UFOs (this was around the time of the Hudson Valley sightings, but we lived farther north than that area) and I am pretty sure I saw Bigfoot a few years ago, so yeah, I believe in alot of crypto/paranormal phenomenon!

Portland has several underground tours of what are called the Shanghai Tunnels.  I went with a group once and afterwards, had pictures from the tour posted on our group's website.  At least three different cameras were used that night and all three showed the same floating globe effects in the same room.  None of the other dozen rooms showed the effect.

A few years back, I got a chance to work at an abandoned insane asylum for 45 days.  It was called Dammasch and is now torn down.  Several ghost sightings were reported.  Towards the end, someone found a report that the two most common visitations were the rape of a young woman and a sole security guard walking around.  When they heard that, everyone looked at me.  Course, it didn't help that I was white from sheetrock dust at the time.

That's pretty wild, Z!  I'm glad you bumped up this thread - I was just thinking about posting a couple more tales of terror, myself!

Oh, I just noticed, RedKing is the one who bumped this up!

I've got to pass on the credit for bumping to Redking which I also appreciated.  Love the supernatural kind of stuff.  Would love to hear what you were going to post UP.

I love reading about this sort of thing! I used to have scads of books on Bigfoot, lake monsters, Atlantis, the Bermuda Triangle, ancient astronauts, ghosts, etc. I don't believe in any of it for a second, though. But I still like reading about it.

My brother had an encounter with a shadow figure once. He was asleep on the family bunk beds and something awakened him, and he saw a man in black looking through a photo-album on a music stand, and when he reached out, the figure vanished.  Same House, I saw a ghost once. Also, The Home I grew up was, and I kid you not, location to a Santa Claus siting, by me.  I was asleep in my living room when I was like 7 or 8, something like that,  And My mother and I slept in the living room that night because the house was cold elsewhere. I awakened early Christmas Morning to see a weighty figure dressed in red unloading a bag of toys. My Father was in Indiana, and my soon-to be Stepfather was too big to be who I saw, and My brothers were too small. My mom insists no one was let in that night.

UP please share some of your stories!! Doc, I ove your stories too-I am glad you mentioned seeing Santa-I swear I saw the old man too, when I was about 5 or 6. I got up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve and snuck out to the living room and swear i saw him unloading a sack of presents. of course I ran back to bed and pretended to be asleep, and as I got older I figured I just dreamed or imagined the whole thing...but after hearing your story, and I still vividly remember it...maybe it really was Santa!

PEPSI, The Ghost Dog

I was around 10-11 years old and a bunch of us kids were goofing off & playing around in the street.  It was close to eleven o'clock in the evening.  After our parents yelled for us to stay out of the street or get on the porch, I opted to hang out on my neighbors porch.  Directly across the street was my house, with a straight on view of our garage at the end of our driveway.  The garage door was open & I could barely see our two cars sitting there in the darkness.  The three kids I was hanging with jumped up and ran into their house to get some kool-aid or something.  I sat there on their porch & started staring into our garage, which was about a hundred or so feet from where I sat.  I began to make out a faint white spot, almost a glow, under one of our cars.  Even from that distance, I recognized it as Pepsi, my neighbor's dog.  He had a distinct white face, with a couple of small dark spots.  I called out to him several times, till my neighbor's old man came outside and asked me what I was doing.  I told him Pepsi was in our garage staring out from under our car.  He became a little shook up.  He was a big, rugged guy and it surprised me to see him like that.  He leaned over and said, "Mark, I found Pepsi, dead, yesterday morning - he'd been hit by a car."  He said he hadn't told his kids, yet, and asked me not to mention it to them.  He was slightly freaked out, but not as much as I was!  The kids eventually found out about the demise of their beloved pet - and I kept my word - till now...
