Welcome to the UMA, Dr. T!

What kinds of toys did you deal in? Did you have a store, or just do shows?

Thanks Mr. Mike! I had an actual store front, website and did shows regularly for 15 years. I dealt in character toys - stuff from the 40s all the way up to present day. Superheroes, PEZ, animation, monsters, G.I. Joes, Star Wars, Trek.....1000 sq feet of stuff. I miss it a lot, and wish I had some of te monster stuff I sold over the years to pay the rent!

Sounds like my kind of store! Wish I could wonder around in it for an hour or two.  :)

Portland, Orgon. And if I hear one Portlandia joke and I'm reaching through your computer screen and strangling you! Lol! >:D

It was actually called Dr. Tongues 3-D House of Collectible Toys. I really wish I had some pics of the place. I worked really hard building and running it. It was a clean well lit store with lots of stuff on display crammed in locked display cases.

I haunted your online store for awhile! Cool selection of stuff!!
I always wanted to visit your Portland store, but I haven't been to Portland in ages (even though only 60 miles away, I'm in Salem).
Unemployment and lack of car buddies to go with has kept me grounded.
I'm really sad it's no longer there.  :-\

When I get some income coming back in, I'm going to follow your collecting habit with the Japanese vinyl based on 50's monsters, I tell ya.

Mister Larry

I chose the character name in honor of the wolfman.  My name is Danny Burchette and I have been a fan of the Classic Universal Monster Movies every since I can remember.  When I was younger every Halloween I would watch Dracula then the Wolfman and Finally Frankenstein.

I still try to watch them on Halloween which is easier because of DVDs.

Welcome to the UMA, Mr. Larry!  It's a good thing Talbot's first name wasn't Edward.  ;D

Hello my name is Daniel,
I am a collector of movies, comics and merchandising for a long time. It all started years ago with old movies that had my father and uncle, my hobby grew since then and now.

Currently working as a professional model maker and do small jobs in FX productions. Years ago...I work custom paint for client worldwide.

Have invited me into your forum, did not know him and I hope to get in touch with you.
I'll post some of my work, I hope you like it.
