I totally forgot about the hautned house.  I check Ebay now and then and saw someone had some of the figures up for over $300 but didn't get a buyer.

Wonder what a set still in the box would go for?

A set of all 6 MOC Kooky Spooky figures on cards? Easily $2,100. The average price for a carded figure on a nice card is about $350, and several have sold for $450, $540, and $585 (the highest I've seen, for Brother Mortimer MOC). If you had a set of all 6 MOC, I'd guess about $3,000+.  :o

Barlow, thank you.  That is amazing news.  Makes you kinda wonder what would have happened if this toy line really took off.

Wait till I update the website and show you all the planned Series 2 figures. Oh man!  ;)

I have a Baby Spook'em that I need to sell.  Hubby is out of work and we are selling off somethings to help pay bills.  I hate to get rid of this cutie--as it was one of my favorite toys as a child.  Any ideas on where to find someone interested?  I thought about ebay---but sales there have not been good on things lately.

Thanks

KCkoala, PM me and let me know about condition and all that and I'll make you an offer.  ;)

Kooky Spookys always do well on eBay, but people seem to prefer bidding on them as opposed to "Buy It Now" listings.  Depending on the condition of the figure and if it still has its original accessory, you could easily top $100 with a $9.99 opening bid price.  If you have the original box (any condition), you'd likely end up selling it for $200-$300.

As a matter of fact, there are 2 boxed Kooky Spookys (Grandma McCreak and Baby Spookem) listed on eBay right now and the starting bids were apparently $279 each...and they already have bidders!  Wish it was me, but that's out of my range at the moment.  One day I'm gonna git me one of those boxed Kooky Spookys!

There is also a loose figure of Daddy Booregard (no clock necklace) that has been listed for at least a couple of weeks, but no one seems interested in it.  Why?  Because it is a "Buy It Now" listing, and as I mentioned previously, people just don't like that kind of listing when it comes to Kooky Spookys.  Curious!

A very talented lady is creating miniature glow-in-the-dark clay Kooky Spookys reproductions.  They are really cute and the detailing is quite accurate.  She's also making Kooky Spookys based on pop-cult icons.

Kooky Spookys...gone but not forgotten!

They might go much higher.

In 2005, there were 2 Grandma McCreaks that sold loose, in NM shape, with her umbrella, for $321 and $250 respectively.

Also in 2005, a Baby Spook'Em that was loose and NM sold for $250.

There were also some carded figures of each sold in 2005. Grandma McCreak went MOC for $407 and Baby Spook'Em MOC went for $494!  :o

On the other hand, in 2006, Baby Spook'em sold NMOC with a smell cello melt for $203 and Grandma McCreak sold NMOC with a small cello melt for $204.

And in 2007 there were 2 carded Grandma McCreaks that sold MOC for $206 and $280. And a Baby Spook'em Mint on a Good card sold for $150.

So it can go either way. I wonder if there's any shill bidding going on?

The bidding on Kooky Spookys can be odd and unpredictable.  Sometimes the condition is factor, sometimes not.  I've bid on a few carded figures in recent years, but never over $300...and needless to say, I've never won either.  I really wanted that repackaged Japanese Daddy Booregard, but if I recall correctly, the winning bid was over $450.  Too rich for my blood!  On the other hand, there used to be an equally rare Teena Terror repackaged as something called "Goofie Goblins" that was listed on eBay for months and as far as I know it never sold and was eventually taken down by the seller.  (No real surprise since it was listed as "Buy It Now" which is the kiss of death for Kooky Spookys!)  Since it seems we die-hard Kooky Spookys collectors are willing to pay top-dollar for them (if we can afford it), it seems unlikely there is much shill bidding going on.  It's hardly necessary!

Wow!   Someone needs to copy those pics to our gallery if we don't already have them.  Never seen the packaging for these before and the pics are pretty good.

If the line had really taken off, they would be more plentiful, and likely less valuable.  Of course, there would be more fans of it, so hard to say...

HHwolfman, those are indeed new records that I gotta add to the database. The previous highest off the top of my head was a MONMC Brother Mortimer that sold for $585 in 2006.
