It's apparently 20$ for the bucket/popcorn and a Mystery Plush

There's a Creature on eBay for $55. Scalpers! :P

You can only get them at the theater, but you can't even eat the popcorn while you watch the movie.

It can always get worse. If we live long enough. :blank:

At least you'll have a bucket to throw up in at the concept of plush POPS.
Seriously though, I went to AMC about two weeks ago to see VERTIGO on the big screen, the cheap ass bag they gave me for the popcorn soaked through with the butter I'd added-- and I didn't even put in that much.  At least I had the sense to keep the bag in front of me so the stains were only on the rug in front of me.  I'm all for buckets.

The Cantankerous Collector

I'd love to see some Universal Monster embossed tin popcorn buckets like they did with JAWS this summer. I LOVE embossed tin.

These aren't POP! plush dolls. I don't see Funko's name anywhere on the poster, so I don't believe the company has any connection to these. I know a lot of you on here don't like Funko POP! figures, but I happen to have a moderate  collection of them - maybe a couple of dozen of them. Some of them are actually quite nicely made and are in some cases the only representation of a horror character available in toy form, or as an affordable toy or collectible.

I honestly don't understand the hate here for these and similar items. Not everything released is going to have a NECA sculpt or be a high end figure. It's Halloween season, and plush toys like this are quite popular. Would I buy them? Maybe not. But I'm in Canada, and they're probably not even available here, so that's a moot point. I do think they're rather cute.  But if these were Hammer characters, I'd move hell or high water to get them.

These may not be for you, but they may be ideal for children or the casual collector. Anything that keeps the classic monster characters in the public eye is a good thing, wouldn't you say?

They are made by "Modern Monster Toys" (another source says an unspecified company) and retailed by AMC theaters. And scalped by eBay.

They look a lot like these bag clips made by Monogram.

Or these plush toys.

Yes, it's unfortunate that they are being scalped on eBay. Everything is nowadays, it seems.

I mentioned "POP!," as some comments here have referred to them as such. Or, perhaps they meant POP-styled figures.

In any case, I think they're a nice little collectible. I could see parents buying them for their kids or as a gift for a boyfriend/girlfriend.

I think it's fantastic that there are so many choices nowadays for Universal fans. Now, if we could only get more Hammer horror, Vincent Price, and '70s horror (BLACULA, COUNT YORGA, DR. PHIBES, etc.) items, that'd be nice. And affordable items - not $300 or more figures that the average person can't afford.

That's why I still appreciate Funko; we've been given figures for THE SHINING, BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA,  A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, MOTEL HELL, PHANTASM, "V" The Series, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?, THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, Marvel Comics horror characters, and many others that have not been widely merchandised by companies, or if something has been made, it is difficult or expensive to track down.

I'd like to have the Creature one, but I don't want to pay $60 for it.

Total garbage.   Im so tired of this buttoned eyed abstract, designer cartoony junk.    Cant they do things like Monster Niks anymore and drawings or pictures of the actual monsters on the bucket.     Pardon my French but this stuff blows.

Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

I'm sure there's an audience for this stuff...somewhere, someplace....not for me though.

Not for me either. I just don't like the look of POP!-style figures. It's just my opinion and has nothing to do with how popular something is. We can still express our opinions on here. It's silly to gripe about someone expressing a negative opinion about something you like. Give your opinion and let others do the same.

That is unfortunate that they're being sold for that much. I hope you are able to get your hands on one.
Perhaps someone on here would have one they can send you for a reasonable price?
I missed out on getting the Remco-styled GITD Creature figure from NECA. I'm still miffed about it, but there's no way I'm paying $100 or more CDN, plush shipping for one. I hate exclusives of any kind, but that's a story for another day.

Yes, I totally agree. It's not my intention to gripe about this. I'm just expressing my bemusement on the seemingly strong dislike that Funko product and other "cute" contemporary merchandise like this seems to generate on here. Obviously, anyone can voice their opinions - in favour, or against - these releases.

Look, I'm in my 50s. Do I wish that all new monster collectibles were like the ones I used to have when I was a kid in the '70s or early '80s? Of course I do. But I'm realistic about it and  know that isn't going to happen.

Personally, I like some of this stuff that is put out now, and some of it just isn't for me. But I do appreciate that it's out there for people to buy - or not.
