Wonder what they'll announce next, now that they've released the big 8 in color, and most of them in black & white as well. Hopefully the line continues for awhile, or at least NECA uses the license for other things. I still demand some toony terrors!

Yea very surprised we haven't seen UM toony terror seems simple enough to produce those

Id assume we'll get some variants in future of pre release things
Like invisible man in smoking jacket
The other 2 Creature movies
Son of Frankenstein

Support the lines as well as you can. I know I have...and will.  Lines only continue as long as they continue to prove profitable. Despite NECA being a company of fans, producing for fans: if there's no profit, there's no furtherance. Keep them dollahs rollin' in, boils and ghouls. 8)

One need look no further than the Planet of the Apes line for details. The last wave had to be a triple package exclusive to Toys R Us. We never got any humans or Mutants. Those figures were great, and I bought them all. Sadly, not enough others followed along the trail.  :'(

Do we have any idea how well the Universal Monsters figures are selling so far?

Anton Phibes

From what I've gleaned, they've been doing fairly well.  The ability to offer them in color and b/w has probably been a boost, and the minor Remco and BK variants probably have moved the dial a bit as well. I still haven't heard if Phantom or Invisible Man are being offered in b/w.

Hey darkmonkeygod, you heard anything about actual sales and profitability, Shannon?

My buddy's shop sells through his Universals pretty fast. Creatures were running out the door the say I got mine.

Also, worth noting it's based on the one for the 8 inch figures rather than the more simplistic looking 3 3/4 inch one.

My OCD brain wants to be annoyed by this but it looks sooooo good that I can easily overlook it. I'm pumped but also fearing the price tag.

No, that type of info is usually kept pretty close to the vest.

Or the hoops  they'll make collectors jump through to get it.
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

I would have to guess the line is doing pretty well.  I always see at least one or two of them at Target or Best Buy, and when I go back they're either gone or a new one is in their place.  I see tons and tons of fan photos as well.  Also NECA wouldn't make an accessory set for something that they didn't think would sell or not. But then again, that's just my outsider perspective. I've been buying two of each to try to help out!

And apparently from what I heard the Back to the Future line

I wish the Hallmark Karloff Frankenstein ornament could have gotten more multi buyers like this.  Now that was a loss to us collectors of what Hallmark could have offered with the monsters, but I'll leave that discussion until the next holiday.

I too buy more than one Neca monster fig when I can.  One to open, one to have MIB.  I sure hope these are doing good for them.  Some excellent monster figs announced, should keep it going for a bit longer.

Depends on Uni and how they will handle the license going forward, after the TOTS law suit, and their purchase of Spirit Halloween.  Hard to judge how the Neca figs are doing in my area.  Since their vendors dumped this area, and we never got the new items starting with Lugosi Dracula release onwards.

My Target shelf has had 4 b/w Wolf Man, 3 Color Frankenstein, and 5 each of the Remco style Mummy, and Wolf Man (never got Frankie in my area) for about a year now.  They are slowly getting items in again, and these are selling good.  The new Creature b/w sold out twice here, which is 4 boxes going from allowed amounts, I believe, and a Phantom that I already had an extra, and placed back on shelf, was gone the next day.  Surprising for my small town, and for a silent film almost 100 yrs old, gives me hope.

Two things I will opine on.

(1) I REALLY wish NECA didn't put the hang tags on these figures. More often than not bent or ripped. The box is too big for a hang tag.

(2) I'm fairly certain there is someone(s) in my region purposely damaging the boxes. It's been one heck of a thing for me to be able to get a color Creature. I've seen several, and every box looks like someone punched it. It very well could be the kid putting them on the shelf drops them multiple times or some little kid walking through the store picks them up and pile drives them, but it's awfully consistent across multiple stores in multiple cities in the area. I finally got one at a Best Buy that I had to ask for from the back room. I also got a Phantom so that was a could trip. I had no idea Best Buy carried them until someone mentioned it on here.

Some may be saying: "Just order them from EE, BBTS, Amok etc. etc." No, they come banged up not infrequently and it's a hassle to return them. I like to see what I'm getting before I buy it. Then buy them from a local comic shop. Oddly, there really aren't any that I am aware of in my area. The one I am familiar with is a 30 minute drive and they are kind of a holes so I don't really go there. Plus they charge 20% more than anywhere else.

All that said, love the figures and I'm really pumped about the Monsterizer.

MonsterBaker666

I HATE those hang tags.  Every one I see at Walmart is bent badly or torn off.  I get my figures from BBTS and a few were bent...not badly but still bent.  They're really a waste.  These figures are boxed...no heed for hang tags.  If they want them they should switch to plastic stick on tags.

Anton Phibes

That would be the only thing I hate about all NECA products. Those wretched paper hang tags.

They're not good. Go back to the plastic with a the lined crease.

I would even pay a couple bucks extra for that if its a money thing.

Other than that, everything else has been awesome.
