Hey Mars, you alright out there? It's been a few weeks since you've posted, I believe.
Hope everything is cool and you're safe man.

He texted me a couple of days ago. He said he was fine. I guess there's not much to post about (except COVID-19  and boredom).

Opera Ghost

Fiendish Greetings My Fellow Ghouls and Gals,

for the interim, my Managers have closed the establishment from whence my biweekly Tribute is bestowed.

Here I find myself now making improvements to my Opera House, and tackling things which I've long endeavored to.

My apologies to the good  Villagers and folk of the UMA for my absence. As Hepcat mentions, changes to my job and life have left me less time to visit the forum, and it is not for the lack of a desire to visit.

I hope the current plague passes each of your houses and that we call come out of this with a monstrously new amount of personal reserve, inspiration and strength.

Also...if anyone has any idea on how to make Amazon photos work for hosting my Avatar pic, please let me know as do not see the need to pay for online Photo storage beyond what I get with Prime :)

I remain your humble servant,

OG

Great to see you back on the boards OG.

Waves from Sydney, Australia. We have done a great job of flattening the curve, here, and restrictions are easing (as of today - and some more next week, to start with). Some of us wish we could all do just a few more weeks of lockdown and vanquish the virus completely, but people are getting tired of only their own company. To do this on the heels of a prolonged drought, threats of climate change, then bushfires (just as predicted and then much worse) and putrid air quality, it has been very taxing. But we are also grateful our government (and New Zealand's) have been so responsive. I think they were caught on the hop with the bushfires, so they lifted their game at just the right time.

A zombie movie with Brad Pitt was screening last night and it was just too spooky to watch in this environment.

Stay safe everyone.
Thiptho lapth,

Regards, Ian.

Has anyone been in touch with ChattyLMS? She was a very active poster and monster memorabilia collector in the early years of this forum but she hasn't logged in since April 2013. I sent her a PM several days ago but to this point I've not received a response.

It's good to have you back, even if being the bearer of bad news was what brought you.

I've been seriously concerned about Mcdee, a.k.a. Denis McDougall from Calgary. Here's his intro post from 19 April 2009:

Quote from: Mcdee on April 19, 2009, 09:47:04 AMHi everyone...My name is Denis McDougall, I live in Calgary Alberta and have been a Universal Monster Fan ever since my Dad let me watch Frankenstein on the old B/W tv  a million years ago and then along came Aurora and the Monster Models...the rest is history...I'm an avid collector of Monster Models and have all the Auroras,PL's, Monarch & Moebius kits...but still not satisfied I'm on a mission to aquire the Aurora Prototypes that were never released and so far have been able to get the Hanging Tree, MOTM Fay Wray, and MOTM Metaluna Mutant...bjut there are more and so the Quest continues!...I'm a Dad of 7 (6Boys-1Girl) and a Granddad...55 years old and still an Aurorakid...I'm also a Construction Supervisor...as long as I'm building something ...I'm happy... be it Models or actual buildings...I used to play in a band on weekends ,good times ...Hey it's Great to meet you all!

Here on 25 January 2018 he described some of the health problems he'd developed:

Quote from: Mcdee on January 25, 2018, 11:08:42 AMThanks for the well wishes guys.... I was diagnosed last year with COPD, emphysema stage 1 and to top it off Asbestos crystalline throughout my lungs (It all stems from my 44 year construction career) I had a few convulsive moments gasping for air in December and that bought me a 3 week stay in the hospital... I'm an outpatient at  the moment and on Oxygen and Hydromorpnone  I'm on short term disability from my Company which will probably turn into long term.... Right now I'm loving life and using up my free time immersing myself in building and painting  Monster models ....

I exchanged emails/PMs with him last fall when he was having severe mobility and other problems because of his lung issues but I'd not heard any more from him since early December.

I just received an email from him this morning though! His health problems have prevented him from getting down to his computer to access UMA but he's going to try to reconfigure his bedroom to make room for a computer he can access.

Tell Denis the UMA is pulling for him! Even 44 years ago, I thought there was more concern about Asbestos!

Mord: now the question is: where the heck are you? You've gone radio silent. I hope everything is cool.

Hi Geezer. I think I'm still breathing. Havent checked recently. I had been told that most  people here didn't like me (true story). I was shocked (since I'm so lovable). I know that you, Mars, Adam, and Mike are gold. I just thought I'd take some time off. Don't want to wear out my welcome.
