Finished watching the 11 Toler "Chan" movies produced by FOX. Entertaining, for the most part, but #2 son's "shtick" got old real fast! Think I'll have a break before I get into the 11 Toler Monogram movies.

Then you can watch the Mr. Moto movies.

And don't forget Karloff's "Mr. Wong" series.

I've got them all.  I'm a big mystery/detective movie fan.

I bought the Wong set to add to my Monogram horror/mystery collection.

It Came From Hollywood, 1982 - Edited bits of movie trailers introduced and discussed by Dan Akroyd, John Candy, Cheech & Chong and Gilda Radner.

Seems silly now, but definitely served a niche audience at the time of its release.

Probably not for anyone who doesn't remember seeing it with an appreciative crowd in a theater.

Seems like I found it entertaining/funny, at the time, but I wonder how well it has held up.

Saving Private Ryan, 1998 - Rescuing the last of 4 brothers so their mother needn't lose all her sons to war.

Realistic battle scenes and touching depictions of sacrifice and hardship.

Not a big fan of war movies, but I love this one.  Everyone looks like they belong.  Great ensemble cast.

Especially impressed by the amazing Harve Presnell.  He was such a fine entertainer, whether singing "They Call the Wind Mariah" in "Paint Your Wagon", playing the stubborn father-in-law in "Fargo" or as General George C. Marshall, reading Lincoln's Civil War letter to Mrs. Bixby.

If you are unmoved by Lincoln's words or the quiet request,  "Tell me I've led a good life.  Tell me I'm a good man", we didn't see the same movie.

Presnell

HA!  I had just watched the film the previous minute and was typing very fast.  These days my fingers are sometimes faster than my brain.
