There are 24 Frankenstein Megos on eBay. I guess that explains why you can't find these in the stores. Damn scalpers suck the joy out of this hobby.

Heheheh......but if not for scalpers, I never would've got my Dracula. Dracula. Sucks. Funny punny Mordy, lol.

Monsters For Sale

UPS just delivered my Mego Frankenstein, #71 of 10,000.  Seven days from placing my online order.

I will keep it on the card.  Not enough different about the figure itself to display it loose.

I wonder how many will really be made.  Hard to imagine they could actually sell 10,000 of these.  The market doesn't seem that strong.

Are the other figures also being touted as "Limited Editions"?  If so, how many each?  (Imagine making 10,000 Tootie figures.)

I think they are all touted as 10,000 piece limited editions ( even the beloved Tootie one). I hate to be holding # 9,999 in front of a horde of obsesse tootie collectors.

"I have the limited edition Tootie No. 9999, and I wouldn't give her up for anything!  I can't wait for Blair, Jo and Mrs. Garrett!!!" - said no one ever.

I wonder if they keep putting them up and taking them down as they open cases at the warehouse Distribution Center. They may be keeping cases sealed if the line fails and there is a return to manufacturer clause in the contact.

I think it's because Dirtyhorse keeps buying them all up  ;D

All Mego figures are on discount at Target.com now. No sign of Drac or Frank but the rest are lower than ever. Even the 14 inch ones and two packs.

They have now lost their back of store, end cap shelf with Mego logo header in my local store.
All moved to pegs next to the wrestler action figures, and other warmers...no Frankensteins ever seen!

I hope the Mego folks are reading this to see what is worth making - what REALLY sells.

(But, having made Norm, they have to make Cliff now.)

Same thing happened at my local Target. They're all mixed with the misfit peg-warmers. I did find one lonely Frankenstein,  face down in the wrong section. I guess chances of series three and the Wolfman are nil.

From what I've seen and read it looks like the new Mego attempt will tank. Yeah, we probably won't be seeing a Wolfman (which might be a good thing after Army Boots Frankie, though at $15 I would have bought Wolfie anyway). I'm not interested in any of them except the monster figures no matter how cheap they get.

Genre fans are the ones who usually buy action figures, not Joe Blow sitcom fan. Evidently, Abrams just doesn't get it after all these years. And, we know mainstream stores like Target are oblivious. We're basically ignored by the big retailers.  ::)

All valid points. Look at it this way, at least we got an official Mego Bela Dracula. I would say it is a win for all classic monster fans. ;D

Yeah, getting the Drac made it worthwhile for us. And, the hoopla and jokes around the Frank were fun. We gotta keep something going around here to stay entertained.

I dunno if anyone is buying anything but Monsters and Trek for what they are actually supposed to represent with regards to character choice. but lots of folks on mego forums are buying characters up and customizing them into other characters. The Cliff Clavin from Cheers could easily be turned into Laird Creigar's Jack the Ripper from the Lodger movie.
