Somebody found them in Michigan and posted a pic over at the Mego Museum. It's the entire endcap though...Franky is too small to see any details.
Time for another trip to Target!
It's a Karloff Frankenstein....hmmmnnn...??? He's also 12.99

A Gorn, too!!
Looks decent, though hard to tell from the pic. So, the Wolfman should be an all new sculpt. That's good news.
I just got back from my Target where they had....no Frankenstein, lol.

I am waiting for the wave 2 of KISS figures. Sans.....Eric and Tommy. :o
I just checked Target's site and did not see Frankenstein. I would think they would be on the site around the time they hit stores.

There are were six or seven Draculas/Bela at the Target near me.
Just picked up the disappointing Frankenstein Mego at Target. He's dressed in army green pants and green jacket and his boots look like army issued also. But his shirt is black. He looks like he can glow in the dark, but does NOT. His jacket sleeves are just below his elbows and his pants are above his ankles. To me it's a very generic looking monster. He does NOT have any neck bolts which are associated with the Frankenstein monster. The card has no mention of Universal.
The illustration on the front of the card is like one of the Frankenstein Halloween cards out there now, NOT a picture/photo. On the back of the card is a different illustration of the monster than the one on the front. The back illustration has the neck bolts on the sides of his forehead. He's more of a G I Joe Frankenstein. I think he would make a great figure to customize.

Well, that's disappointing news. Any way you would post a pic or 2? Doesn't bode well for the Wolfman.
Could you post pictures of the Mego Frankenstein front and back of the card for us, please. Thanks for your help with this, would love to see a closeup of him.

You need to put the code on each link, not just at the beginning and end of a group of links.
OK, I guess I did something right. There was only one Frankenstein. Quite a few Gorns, Star Trek guys and Samantha from Bewitched. The Target store was in reset operation, meaning every department was scattered throughout the building. The Megos were on the endcap and all 8 inch figures were priced at $12.99. For those of you keeping track of country wide inventory, this store was in a southwest suburb outside the Windy City. Once again, no mention of Universal, Glen Strange, Karloff, Lugosi, or Chaney Enterprises on the card.
I actually like this Frankenstein figure. The big question is where are they? I didn't check the Targets in my area because they didn't even have the Dracula, never mind this wave 2 Franky. Also, I have not seen one on ebay and Target on line doesn't have them either.

Thanks so much for posting all of the photos !!

Lots of custom potential/ideas regarding this figure 😎👍🏻

They used the same tired, old picture from Bride of Frankenstein on the front - the one that EVERYONE uses. Universal must not challenge the use of that image any longer.
But, then they made that even
worse. They cropped the electrodes from the neck! They are clearly visible in the original picture.
So, what is the story with these? They use a photographic image from Universal on the front of the box, Universal's Frankenstein font on the back and dress the monster in green - but they remove the neck electrodes from both photo and figure and don't mention Universal why? So they don't have to pay a licensing fee? (They use all the other design elements for an "official" monster - Scalp clamps, left jaw stiches, forehead wound.)
I don't get it.
The likeness is definitely Strange, not Karloff 👍🏻
Looks like an economy version of the emce to me. Here's the emce. You judge. I am not gonna buy one.

It's the one I think looks like Liev Schreiber.
They moved the neck bolts up to the forehead on the back art.
I'll buy one, but these are disappointing.
https://flic.kr/p/29Qjz4h (https://flic.kr/p/29Qjz4h)They recycled the old Mad Monster Frankenstein art for the back.
I guess this means we'll get the EMCE Wolfman with green pants? Maybe they'll give him the missing neck-bolts.
Mego are doing what they always did. Ballpark likeness, generic paints and a cheap and cheerful price point. It's what gives them the charm and mego feel. I think with classic monsters it was AHI who set the gold bar originally. I think the Frankie's okay for the price. A pair of spaceman boots from FTC painted black. A black suit from them too, hem the sleeves a little, weather by rubbing on concrete, a couple of bolts made from cutting the ends off a wooden barbecue skewer. Paint silver. Glue on. Job Done :)

That's a letdown. Is the new Frank figure the one we hoped might be a decent Chaney?
I'm on the fence about even giving $15 for it. I may buy one in a pre-Halloween induced fever but I'm sure not hoop-jumping for it. Certainly not gonna sweat it if I miss out on it. :blank:
The biggest letdown for me is, that it's a redo of a figure a lot of us already have. I thought the EMCE version was barely passable itself. I definitely will stay out of this one. Maybe that's why the first pic we saw didn't show the face. What happened to the Chaney Jr. one?

It's offered as a "werewolf" from what I hear from Martin and others. probably gonna be the Emce with a re-paint and new clothes. Its good to get them out there and let kids nab them....I am all for that. But for old poops like me; I already bought the emce.
Can they possibly paint it any worse than the EMCE version? The clothes on that one are bad enough.

Yep, you're right about offering them as toys to the kids being a good thing. Might turn a few kids into monster collectors.
I guess the new Mego Bela Drac turning out to be of nice quality was a fortunate fluke.

I loved the Phantom and (to a lesser degree) the Mutant. The rest never impressed me, though I have them. I can't believe you didn't like the 8" Sideshow Wolfman, but this shrunken head EMCE version you're fine with (the ripped hippie pants and pirate belt buckle killed it for me).

I think it was those loose pegs that snapped on Sideshow elbows and knees (I had a loose set before I gave them to my brother) and the paint apps on his face that bugged me. I have seen re-painted ones that are great. I love Sideshow, but hold Wolfie to a higher standard, lol. As for the Emce Wolfman, I was no fan of the ripped pants, pirate belt or green, grren green clothing choices. But it looked like a toy. So I was ok with it. Even though he isn't my fave. As for fave Wolfman TOY that also makes for a great collectible for old poops like me....The Jakks Wolfman is the bomb. 8)
Wow. So this is a re-release of an official Universal item without Universal. haha That is too much!
If this is going to be in the scale of the Drac, I'll get one because my Drac is too large for the EMCE figures. Too bad we didn't get the Lonster.

I must admit that this release doesn't really do it for me either. I did get a Bela shipped to me in the Uk that I was happy to pay that bit more for and love having him but I can pass on this one. If I could get one at cost and still lived in the US then I might have picked one up just for the completest in me but it's an easy one to walk away from.
Hopefully the Werewolf will fair better and the only other set I'm interested in seeing is the Blade Runner one but I'm not holding out much hope for that (although they did make a few hits with the first series so you never know).
Ian
Please understand: Paul Clarke is the Man
I love this man. I have known him for 22 years. And although we have never been bosom friends, my admiration for him has only grown with each passing year. His list of accomplishments in the Mego realm is unsurpassed. He is a genius, pure and simple. And I do not give out praise lightly
Why he has chosen to align himself in such a fools errand with Marty Abrams is beyond me. But you know what? It doesn't need to make sense to me. It only needs to make sense to him.
But-- I chafe at everyone always waxing nostalgic about Marty Abrams. This is the man that ran the worlds greatest toy company into the ground. And who now, in the midst of a Mego Renaissance has talk to himself, "you know what the world needs? A Cheers Norm figure"
Good grief

If Frankenstein isn't on store shelves, in Target's online catalog or popping up all over eBay by October, I'm gonna assume Universal stepped in and shut Mego/Target down on these.
That lone eBay seller still has the only Mego Frankenstein to ever be listed as far as I can see. He may get his $500.00 from someone who wants a rarity.
Wonder if Mego scheduled for an "October surprise", or there is a warehouse somewhere with 10,000 of these marked for destruction?

Many of us wouldn't shed a tear if this were the case. By the photos the new Mego Frank looks too much green and too little
good. I might still give 15 bucks for it though, if given the chance. Lean Halloween.

Tell me about it. Where did all the good stuff go? Sadly, last year was the exception, not the norm.
It's a catch 22, for me. The more obtainable the Frankenstein is, the less I would be likely to buy it. If it were impossible to find, I might fork out $15 for it. Either way...no tears.
One of the main guys over at Mego Museum says that Target doesn't want the wave 2 stuff out yet until the 12.99 first wave is sold through and then wave 2 will go back up to 14.99.
So maybe Target's actually pulling this off...
If they are waiting til Wave 1 is all gone to put out wave 2.....they're gonna be waiting an awfully long time.

It seems that like most businesses, Targets customer service is lacking. There is a Target 0.6 miles from my house. The first several times I went in looking for Dracula, I did not ask for any assistance. But when after the third trip still no sign of Dracula, I inquired at the customer desk about the figure I was told their were six hanging on the pegs on the display. Of course when I joyfully walked back to get him, not a single Dracula figure was to be found. Most of the problem as we all know is Targets computer inventory system sucks for starters, and second is the employees lack of motivation in wanting to even try to help, or find out why the inventory system is giving them the wrong data. I finally drove to a Super Target 6 miles from home and found two on the pegs 😊. Then the next week, when it was announced here that Frankenstein was showing up at the Targets stores, I called the one where I found Dracula. I asked to speak to someone in the toy department, the lady who answered said that she was clear across the other side of the store and would have to walk over to check, and could I call back in five minutes. Really!!!! What!!!! So when I called back she said no she did not find it on the display. And of course like a fool, when I asked if she could see if the computer was showing any information on said Frankenstein figure, it did not. Why do we even Try!!!!!!

I picked up Frankenstein at my local Target today. This particular store had 4-5 Draculas last time I was there, and all were gone. So these seem to be selling briskly, which hopefully bodes well for continued UM releases.

I drove all over OKC yesterday looking for them, but found nothing. Today in Wichita Kansas, I found two. It was a good day.
For those finding these, can you post a close up of the head/face of this figure?
Does the sculpt look like Karloff, can you see his likeness under the factory paint job?
I know his image is on the package, is it in the figure itself?

Yup there's more of Strange than Karloff in my opinion too.
That's because it is a Glenn Strange likeness used in the sculpt, boys. The Mego is an economy version of this previously released (and superior) version pictured below. The original version has a strurdier body, neck bolts, and nicer illustrated packaging. Possibly better clothes, but I cannot tell from looking. I love the original. What Anton said. If you already have the EMCE version, this downgrade is a waste of time, effort, and gas.
Yeah, waiting for online. The Drac is too tall for the EMCE Frank, so I'm gonna have to get it.
What is the UPC number on this?
I remember when these Monsters were released. The thought of another Frankenstein's monster, as a reproduction from MEGO is an insult. If EMCE and MEGO are partners. Why release another figure that pretty much resembles the 2014/15 version.
If MEGO would like to release something from the past. How about their Worlds Great Super Heroes line. Now THAT would be super cool.

In only 1 out of 4 Target catalog illustrations?
I'm guessing what you order would not differ from what people have already bought off the shelf. None of them reported electrodes.

The close-up shot with the electrodes looks like the EMCE Frank. The skin tone is different: EMCE looks like painted green, MEGO looks like green plastic.

Are you presuming that the MEGO Frank will be scaled to fit with the MEGO Drac? I suspect that such might not be the case. If they're using the same head sculpt, that head is itself small in comparison to Drac's.

I don't know if a different body on the MEGO frank will make him much taller, but those GI Joe boots sure won't help! I'd be interested in seeing a side-by-side comparison of the EMCE and MEGO Franks from anyone who has both.
It's funny that it's listed as a "Chaney" Frankenstein. It's definitely Strange.

If you're talking their Marvel licenses that would be great. I'm guessing they don't have that license though.
FTC has already re-released virtual duplicates of the classic Mego DC Comic Characters and continues to do so.
I don't have Frankenstein in hand yet (ordered off the website) but it seems like a pale copy of the EMCE figure-- cheaper looking, but then again its half the price right?

I am. It may not. I hope the new Frank is the correct scale, though.
Someone on eBay has a listing of both MEGO figures together, so you can see how they measure up.

Thanks. That is disappointing. He is positioned slightly behind Dracula in that photo. Still may get one, but am not gonna lose sleep over it if I don't... unlike the DD H3 set. :'(
I was seriously on the fence about getting this. Walked into Target yesterday and 1 lone Frank was staring at me on the rack. Anything Frankenstein related is my weakness. Couple that with seeing it was #62 of 10,000 and I couldn't resist...

Of course he's bored. He's stuck in that drab card for eternity.
Finally found this piece of crap. It was $12.99, so I bought it. It's the first time I found any Megos in a Target store. As bad as it is, the others were hideous. Has anyone seen the Happy Days Ritchie? That gets my vote for worst. You can't tell who it is. Wrong hair color, wrong face...just terrible.
Got mine from Target.com and it was here after I got back from NYCC. I opened it and was less than impressed. On the card this one could be an easy pass— bored expression, army boots. A swing and a miss. I would have passed in a store.
Then I opened him— and he's the best balanced sturdiest Mego figure I've ever seen. He also holds a pose really well. I made a custom card for Dracula;
(https://static1.squarespace.com/static/551ea159e4b0548e77ef0694/t/5bbb5f48104c7b817530c829/1539006295146/0C4CBFEF-7351-4823-8C36-EC3A11CFA4F6.JPG?format=1500w)
Which I think dresses him up a bit, I might do the same for Frankie but he poses so well I kind of hate to stick him back in the box.
The included chain makes little sense to me, it's too small to wrap around his wrist and it doesn't hang onto anything— should I make it a necklace? I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with it.
I don't understand how DRACULA got so much care— nice sculpt, good paint, likeness is there, etc, while Frankie is pretty much a low rent re-do of the EMCE figure. He needs some love!

I ordered my Frank on 10/2 and it arrived on 10/6. Now it shows as "not available" on my order. The Drac isn't available either, currently. I ordered my Drac several days ago.
I wonder why Target keeps dropping the listings for the monsters on their website, then putting them back up. At least that happened with Dracula, and the Frankenstein will probably pop back up like the Drac did a couple of times. It looks like they would just leave them listed until they sell out. This in-and-out crap just pisses people off who are trying to buy one. I wonder if the monsters disappearing have to do with good sales, or is Target just screwing around with the listings? If so, is it through incompetence or a hairbrained scheme to try to generate demand through a façade of scarcity? ???

I ordered my Frank on the 2nd. I've been given three different expected delivery dates ranging from the 9th to the 13th. Frank was up on the Target site for just a few hours in my area.
When I ordered, I searched availability in my area, within 100 miles. I live about 50 miles south of Los Angeles. I checked my package's progress and found it was shipped by UPS, probably by truck - from Petersburg, Pennsylvania.
The same kind of disorganized nonsense Target gave us with the Monsterville product last year.
I think Target needs to revamp their stocking/ordering/warehousing/shipping procedures. In the age of computers, they should be able to do a little better.

Target does seem disorganized and confused much of the time.
When I ordered my Frank on the 2nd they gave me an expected delivery date of the 10th. Then, they sent an email the next day saying it was shipping early and it arrived Saturday the 6th. It must depend on what else is ordered with it and where those items have to ship from to complete the order.
It could be much worse, I guess. At least we can pretty much count on getting what we order and it usually gets delivered fairly quickly from my experience. I've been impressed by Target's packing on the last few orders too. Everything was packed safely and arrived undamaged.
I just wish they'd get their sh*t together with these availability problems. Those figures should stay up on their website until they're sold out, and if there's a delay in filling an order due to logistics then they should keep the order active until it's filled or the customer notifies them to cancel.
Trying to collect the Target Mego Monsters has already become frustrating. I managed to order Dracula off the Target website, but as many Targets as I've checked in the Louisville area, I've yet to actually see one on the pegs. My local Target still has the sad remnants of Wave One on the shelves that nobody wants (a few Norms, Tooties, Alices and maybe a Fonzie). I doubt I'll ever see a Frankenstein and I've yet to see it available on the website.
There are 24 Frankenstein Megos on eBay. I guess that explains why you can't find these in the stores. Damn scalpers suck the joy out of this hobby.
As much as we've enjoyed making fun of Army Boots Frankie, I wouldn't have bought one if I had to give more than $15 for it. It really is of low quality...real bargain basement stuff. The main selling point is the dialed-up cheez factor. Scalpers would be SOL if they depended on people like me to throw money at them.

UPS just delivered my Mego Frankenstein, #71 of 10,000. Seven days from placing my online order.
I will keep it on the card. Not enough different about the figure itself to display it loose.
I wonder how many will really be made. Hard to imagine they could actually sell 10,000 of these. The market doesn't seem that strong.
Are the other figures also being touted as "Limited Editions"? If so, how many each? (Imagine making 10,000 Tootie figures.)

All Mego figures are on discount at Target.com now. No sign of Drac or Frank but the rest are lower than ever. Even the 14 inch ones and two packs.

Same thing happened at my local Target. They're all mixed with the misfit peg-warmers. I did find one lonely Frankenstein, face down in the wrong section. I guess chances of series three and the Wolfman are nil.
From what I've seen and read it looks like the new Mego attempt will tank. Yeah, we probably won't be seeing a Wolfman (which might be a good thing after Army Boots Frankie, though at $15 I would have bought Wolfie anyway). I'm not interested in any of them except the monster figures no matter how cheap they get.
Genre fans are the ones who usually buy action figures, not Joe Blow sitcom fan. Evidently, Abrams just doesn't get it after all these years. And, we know mainstream stores like Target are oblivious. We're basically ignored by the big retailers. ::)

Yeah, getting the Drac made it worthwhile for us. And, the hoopla and jokes around the Frank were fun. We gotta keep something going around here to stay entertained.
I dunno if anyone is buying anything but Monsters and Trek for what they are actually supposed to represent with regards to character choice. but lots of folks on mego forums are buying characters up and customizing them into other characters. The Cliff Clavin from Cheers could easily be turned into Laird Creigar's Jack the Ripper from the Lodger movie.
Still no wave 2. However, I did purchase another Lugosi figure

I was out today looking for Halloween junk and swung by Target. They had a few Megos in with some other discounted stuff and I was shocked to see 3 Franks. Frank was available in my area [Southern California] for just a handful of hours. I placed my order - and they shipped it from Pennsylvania.
There's got to be a more efficient way.
So even if I have the online stuff set up to notify me when they're back in stock it won't happen if it's not in my zip code?
O-k, so I called the Target Corp number, spoke with someone not in this country ( I assume).
She looked it up, and said it is not available. I told her I have been keeping an eye out for it, and it finally appears on their site.
Asking why it was not available in my zip code area? It is no longer available from Target, they only had a few for sale.
So they posted it, to say it is no longer available...? I ended the call, even more frustrated then before.
Went to my local Target, no Frankenstein, but they had another Dracula. This was not available again for long time, so they are restocking...?
I don't understand Target limiting purchase options due to someone's Zip Code?! Things ship all over the world these days. At worst it should just take a couple of extra days to ship the item, not a refusal to sell. They need to seriously examine the way they do business.
The last Mego Frank I bought was #9,400 or other. Maybe they're on the verge of selling out of these things.
Makes no sense when I got my Dracula it was shipped from Pennsylvania I'm in SoCal so what does zip code have to do with it?
Also the packaging looked as if is had been hanging in a store cuz of the shape of the peg hole, didn't look as if it came from a warehouse.
Missed it. Oh well!

I thought about just trimming some metal rods down and shoving them through the neck.
Small nails (brad or finishing). Hair dryer to soften the neck and shove them in.
For me the lack of neck bolts gives Army Boots Frankie that extra level of cheeziness and marks him as a Uni skirting bootleg...albeit sold by a major retailer who's ineptitude matches the figure. I ain't monkeyin' with mine.

I'm not big on modifying.
I like the idea of collecting a wide range of other people's artistic choices - even the crazy color choices. Some of the rodeo clown color schemes on Mexican carnival chalk ware are a lot of fun.
What would be the point of painting everything to be some identical ideal? Just a whole lot of the same ol' thing.
Got no problem with buying two of something and experimenting with one. Especially if one can be modified into another figure altogether.

With ya, man.
We have a plethora of great Frank figures already. I'll leave this wonderfully crappy little gem as is.
This is my first Mego-sized Frank, thus I'd like to figure out bolts. Think I've got a easy solution that'll hold together perfectly and will require no painting or anything.
Just stopped by Target for Halloween candy. Checked the Megos....the usual suspects ( Cliff, lots of Bewitched, the Gorn, etc).
My target had Wizard of Oz, Tootie, Alice, Fonzie, Norm, and all the others that no one wants! No monsters.
What in the world.... Uhura looks like she is M.O.D.O.K.'s cousin, and Kirk looks....I don't have the words. Is it terrible paint on Kirk, or what? I like the gorn though...he's shiny, lol.

VICTIMS!
I've been periodically checking Target's website looking for a certain Ape-Footed Werewolf and I noticed Army Boots Frankie was listed briefly a couple of days ago and quickly disappeared...yet again. Target's way of doing business is a farce. I know we've belabored the point ad nauseum but it still amazes me just how clueless Off-Target really is.
::) ::) ::) ...and, oh yeah... ::) :laugh:
A 20 mile drive to get a Christmas decoration landed me near a Target, so I went in. Behold! The MEGO Frankenstein! Finally got this thing... And, yeah, I must confess I really dig this color outfit. It's so... nostalgic and beats the Universal green any day. Now to find the Face of the Screaming Werewolf... hopefully online.

How many did they have? Any Draculas?
They had two. One had a busted card. No Draculas, so I am glad to have snagged him online.
I walked into a local Target looking for a werewolf and found two Dracula figures. How those popped up I'll never know but I grabbed them for my friends that missed them.

That is strange for sure. I wonder if they're pushing extra stock? I'm at my local store a couple of times a week and haven't seen anything new in a few weeks. Time to keep checking for Drac and Wolf.
Does anybody know if the male AND female new Mego's have arms and legs that are compatible with the EMCE versions? I've got a Bride with two left legs and a recent deal on a nice but broken-armed Mummy.

They are close, but not identical. To be completely candid.... I prefer the Emce bodies to the new Megos. I bought a Lugosi Mego for the express purpose of stealing the clothes for a Carradine Dracula mego size I am working on. That gave me the opportunity to decide which body to use for Long John, as I had an Emce handy. The Emce wins. The Lugosi will be another project I am cooking up in my lab.
Emce is better in my opinion....look for a loose one to fix your boogered up one.
I like the EMCE guys a lot... but I may splurge on a cheap Mego to see how well I can finagle the Bride's leg. Luckily the Mummy's bandages keep his arm in place with a little sticky-tack so I can be more patient on that end. We'll see, I guess.
How are you gonna make a Carradine head? That sounds so cool!
I don't have to make it, just an adapter for it. Jeff Yagher sculpted a replacement head for the Aurora Dracula. A little paint, a neck peg and voila.

A Chaney Mummy and Phantom would be nice.

Here is one voice from the bottom (mine)...
You can keep them. I'm not buying.
Dracula was great! As for the rest of their "own versions"....it will be case by case in my case. Easy pass on boltless Joe Frankenstein and Ape Feet Werewolf in plaid.
Went by Target.

Ha ha...no. I just get tired of writing out the same thing over and over.
I can't believe how much it cost me to get hold of the Werewolf, the shipping alone cost twice the price of the figure......in fact the customs cost the same price as the figure at retail! Hopefully this thing will arrive safely but I don't understand why Marty can't sell these things outside of the US. Lego always had a presence in Europe back in the day so I don't see why we've all been excluded this time around?
As a bit of completest I'm now thinking about the Frankenstein but this figure really is the worst of the bunch so it's hard to justify buying it. It seems that anything of interest in the world that hits the stores just gets bought up to sell on again. I guess Marty doesn't care as he's selling them all regardless but it does suck for a lot of us.
Ian
My experience after getting ahold of Mego Werewolf is that it looks better in pictures than it does in hand. Don't get me wrong, the figure is cute (in a cheap Retro kinda way), but it pales in comparison to Mego Dracula. The head sculpt and paint job, along with the little hands and big feet, are amateurish at best. After being so enthusiastic after the release of Mego Dracula, I've become disheartened that Marty and Mego (with no help from Target) are botching what could've been a very good thing for toy collectors.

Or an excuse to explain away shoddy sculpts?
I really wish they'd increase the amount of monsters available for anybody who does want to buy them.
I would still like to get a spare Bela and hitting all the Targets in my area (4 total) is getting tiresome.
Just a heads-up:
Whatever you might have been wanting buy online from Target, today only they are having a storewide 15% off sale.
Just saw my Target ad supplement. All Megos are $12.99, buy two get one free. If they stocked all three monsters, it would be perfect ($26 for the lot). This is the time to check for these, since it seems like a blowout sale. Good luck, monster friends.

Hell no. An occasional recipient might actually recognize one of those guys. (I can actually see guys with home wet bars decorated with florescent beer signs having them displayed somewhere.)
I really hope the actress who played the little girl doesn't periodically Google her name to see what her fan base is saying about her all these years later. I'd hate to have her be directed to one of
my posts.
For the record, I never watched the show and have nothing against anyone who participated in the making it. I just find it funny that Mego is making toys of what I assume were minor characters on minor shows from so long ago. What kid today has any idea who these people once where? And how many adults are collecting them?
It is nice not to have to think of myself as a member of the bottom of collector society. Below me are aficionados of Beanie Babies, Cabbage Patch Dolls and Facts of Life Action Figures.

A lot of those Mego figures would make great (cheap) gag gifts - especially if you know someone who really hated any of these shows.
I wondered why this Mego line had zero Superheroes in the 8 inch line. Now I know. Walmart has an exclusive with Figures Toy Co. to remake the Mego line in the old style Box. $25 a pop, these will sell better than Tootie and Peg Bundy.

Really?! When is this happening?
Now. All in stock at the same time, and a group set of all 16 in one go? Amazing.

You guys might find this interesting. Marty Abrams was at SuperCon here in Louisville over the weekend selling and signing his new line of Mego figures. All he had were a bunch of Kirk and Fonzies. He had one each of the Bela Dracula, Frankenstein and the Screaming Werewolf sitting on the table with a sign that said FOR DISPLAY ONLY/NOT FOR SALE. So you can't even get a monster Mego figure from Marty Abrams!

Walmart does NOT have an exclusive deal with Figures Co.
The figures are being sold on the Walmart site by an independent seller.

Just saw my Target ad supplement. ...
I think the people who run Target are crazy.
Last year we had the big runaround with the Monsterville Universal Halloween items. This year we have a similar situation with now-you-see-'em, now-you-don't listings of the Mego figures.
I live in Southern California, about 50 miles south of Los Angeles. We have 25 or more Targets within a 20-mile radius.
Target advertises 2-Day delivery on most items. Last week I placed an on-line order for 5 products. I had to switch my selected local store to one that had all 5 in stock and available for shipping. (Some stores did not have all items. Some stores had all items in stock but would not ship some items.)
I found the magic store and placed my order. Two items have finally arrived. They were shipped from Colorado. The other 3 items have been shipped from 2 different locations.
Now, why the hell do I have to find a local store with all the items "in stock" and "available for shipping" if they don't even ship from nearby stores? Why do they have to break an order of 5 items into 3 shipments, when they were supposed to all be "in stock" at the same store? And why do they require an order be $25 or over to qualify for free shipping when they break that same order into 3 shipments, each of which fall below that minimum - but are shipped from different locations nonetheless?
There HAS to be a more straightforward way of handling orders.
The people who run Target are crazy.
What Mego figures are you finding listed as "in store"? Due to the way the styles and assortments are treated differently between the web and brick and mortar, none of the individua figures should be showing up as "in store".

Can't wait to see if you can make that Screaming Werewolf presentable, lol.
Wolf man, Romulan, and Gorn are all in stock online right now - Go Fast!!!
Got a Werewolf. Thank you.
I have to say - after finally getting a werewolf I am severely disappointed - The figure is legit crap.
If I had found it in the store and looked at it before buying I would have passed. As it is, a friend found one for me and bought it on my behalf and mailed it.
The sculpt on the head is awful. The detail is soft and you can see the 3D print lines still in the hair on top of the head. I am literally drilling most of the face away and resculpting over mine.
The hands are lame, and the feet are frikkin APE feet, not werewolf feet.
My only consolation is that for 15$ its an OK base to basically start from scratch on.
For me I must admit that I quite like the old werewolf figure. He's not at the Dracula level but better than Frank and for my money much better than Mego's original release of this figure.
just my personal opinion and both this figure and Frankenstein cost me a small fortune to pick up in the UK (from US sellers) so I would have been over the moon for them if I could have paid the retail price.

Although MEGO's Mad Monsters have a fun and unique charm to their style. The new 2018 MEGO Monsters are quite, awesome. Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster and Lon Chaney Jr. (Werewolf) are super cool.

I do agree for the most part and even though this isn't the AHI ones or Remo for that matter I still think they're unique enough to be worth releasing....well maybe that's a bit of a stretch with Frankenstein due to it having a repurposed head sculpt, you can't them all. ;D

Today was the first time Target.com offered The Werewolf and Green Shirt Captain Kirk as far as I know (and I've pretty much checked every other day for the last month or so). Even better, they were only $12.99 a piece with a Buy 2, Get 1 Free promo. I ended up getting a decently sculpted Gene Simmons Demon figure for free, so I can't complain about getting all 3 for $9 a piece.
Buy two get one free is silly for something people would pay full price for if given the chance to buy it.
That being said, I bought 3 Werewolf figures for $28.
