Somebody out there wants them.  They put out a new set every Halloween.

No Creature for Mike, though.
That's been an ongoing problem. The Creature is the single most collected Universal monster. He is the guaranteed seller in any classic monster line. He needs no actor license. Why not emphasize him, rather than exclude or underrepresent him. The Creature should be the star of any Uni toy line.

Tecnically Universal own's Karloff's likeness, but you're probably right about the creature's popularity. Universal doesn't do enough with their classic monsters. Sometimes, it seems they only hold on to the rights  to the classic monsters to prevent anybody else from doing something with them.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

This right here is why you should be in charge of Monsters marketing at Universal instead of someone's great nephew once removed. 8)

Thank you. I'll gladly accept the promotion.

Hear hear!

The Gill-man hit the scene years before my birth, yet I've always been drawn to him.  Believe it or not, my earliest memories of him aren't the films -- I first saw his face on a huge Halloween cutout & in my aunt's sewing room.   Lights low, shag carpet, oscillating fan, and me staring intently at that aquarium figure while being lulled to sleep.  For all I knew, the bubbling and percolating sounds were coming from HIM.   :o
A bit later I got a very neat puzzle, one depicting him in the underwater cave, arms outstretched.

I need much more Metaluna, Mole Man, and Hyde merchandise, as well.

No Creature for Mike, though.
From the looks of those he's better off for the lack of it.

:D

Have the Palmers or MPCs ever been rereleased?
No Palmers, but they're crankin' out Pop-Top repops to beat the band south of the border. It's easy to tell the repops though by the way the plastic looks (and smells, no doubt). I think a few sets of MPC 2 1/2" Weird Monsters were repopped back in the '90s in non-glow green but I don't think those molds have been actively used for years. If the 2 1/2" molds were in Mexico we'd probably be seeing them follow their Pop-Top big brothers across the border in droves.

Say, you're a playset person, check out this huge bin of 50s-70s stuff I found a couple weeks back:
(Some nice, heavy-gauge PVC & rubber figures among them.  Love the smell.)

Some neat highlights -- Sgt. Rock, Patton, Daniel Boone, Legionnaire, etc...

Also, how about these Tim-Mee guys?  So cool.  'Repurposed' Marvel characters, heh.

Some cool figures there, UT.

I'm mostly into Monster and Dinosaur related playsets including Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and some Superhero. For something I had as a kid I might step outside those boundaries however, like the MPC Beetle Bailey Camp Swampy playset. I'm almost out of room (been saying that for years, but for something I really want I somehow find the room for it  ;)), and vintage playsets are usually very expensive to put together these days, so I focus on my favorite genres.

....they even include Dracula....hope Bela Jr. is napping, lol. I am happy for those who want the art. Now they can get it too. But the Habib's glasses will always have some extra meaning for me because of the effort a friend took to acquire them for me. So Imma stick with those. ;)

The glasses are the best looking versions of the art.
