I'm amazed that these two are still up for sale, maybe it's the higher amount available this time?

I'm sure there are very few still up for grabs so get them while you can (I still keep looking at Dracula but must resist)!

Ian

Has anyone ever been able to resist Dracula besides this gentleman, lol?

Speaking of Dracula: those of you who ordered the Jack Palance Dracula will be well and truly pleased.  I received him, and Nicholson Wolf yesterday and both are great!!!  The sculpts are spot on and Wolf's eyes have a strange, lupine, glowing appearance....wonderful figures!

I skipped out on this month's offerings. Not a fan of Evil Dead (except the first film) and as fun as Monsetr Squad is: I don't collect anything from that film....but I am anxiously awaiting the July 3rd announcements.....and the hints that herald them.

Looks like DD had big hits with these two newer properties though. Even with raised edition sizes: they are all sold out. Congrats DD/Martin!

Palifan

Can't wait for my Wolf to arrive and even though I didn't go for the other Jack figure I thought the sculpt looked amazing. It was really hard to not go for it but as I haven't ever seen the film it didn't feel quite right to go for it (knowing me I'll end up thinking about it so much that I'll get one in the end lol). It's really good to hear that they both look amazing in hand though Anton and I've come to realize that they always look even better in person then when they're photographed.

I had to go for the Evil Dead 2 offering this month as it's a favorite film of mine although I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of the artwork for some reason (sorry to say that). The Monster Squad artwork is amazing but I feel the same that it's a fun film but not something I've watched more than once and felt it wasn't an essential pick up for me. I love the fact that with DD there really is something for everyone from month to month and I it's nice to see my collection grow.

Onto next month!  :D

I remember the time Jeff Goldblum was Count Dracula.

it worked better then you expect, wouldn't mind Martin a figure based on it.

Yep, he did in the game Goosebumps: Escape From Horrorland, when you try to escape his castle in Vampire Village he chases you down one of the most claustrophobic corridors ever, he reapears again in the colosseum near the end enjoying your characters anguish.

The game was made in 1996, the game had alot of big name people involved, and its pretty fun you ecounter him in the castle's ballroom (think The Fearless Vampire Killers) one of the characters dances with him while you try to find a key to save another character, then you use the Mummys ring against him, que trying to escape and being chased by him, your ecounter with the mummy is alot worse.

A buddy of mine found a DD Chris Lee Dracula in a pile of Monster toys a few weeks ago in Hutchinson Kansas. He was missing his cape and he had scuff marks on top of his head. It was the 8 inch version. Is there a place he could order a replacement cape? I told him it was a long shot but worth a shot to ask.

I would just ask Martin. I bought my Van Helsing second hand and the previous owner threw the candlesticks away. He helped me out with a pair. Or, barring that, it's the same cape Night Flier or Count Krolock has. You could always switch out if you find one of those figures loose.

Thank you. I sent him the link to the UMA so I'll try to get them together.
I just think it's awesome that there was one out in the wild just laying around.

That's one incredible find. How good of a deal did you get (if you don't mind me asking)?

Unfortunately....I don't find this refreshing. I will explain. As limited as these are: I never expect to see something of this caliber wind up at garage sales or flea markets....but they are. The three instances I am aware of are as follows:

1. I saw a 1/6 Curse of Frankenstein in a junk shop. It was not an original paint up....it looked like someone who was doing a re-cast to test the waters. I informed Martin about it immediately and took a picture of it to inform him. The crummy place has since went under.....but the experience has not.

2. A member here found a big bunch of DD product at a yard sale. The figures were offered on ebay because the person who collected them went to prison for (most likely) the rest of his natural life.

3. I saw a twin pack at a flea market....the reason it was there was because the collector in question had died.

So....being the specialty items they are, and extremely limited in their production runs, it usually means something dreadful has happened. Then the items fall into the hands of someone who doesn't understand how unique they are, nor the special place they held in the heart of the previous owner.

Kudos to your buddy, of course, but the fact that the hair was scuffed and the cape was gone means that someone treated as less than what it was intended to be. Art...and special.

Does any of that make any sense, lol? it does in my head.

Mord

It makes complete sense to me. It's almost like a vulture hovering. I think about it from time to time. I spent decades and $1,400 to get a mint, boxed Marx Frankenstein. It was my favorite childhood toy and brought fond memories. I feel that it will one day be sold for next to nothing to some random opportunist. I've learned to accept it. Such is life.
