I'm pretty confident the color comes with color heads and hands and the B&W with B&W, if it was the way you're hoping for what would be the point of two figures?

I agree with this. I'm wondering if the diorama is simply something Mezco used to show off the B&W figure. In the picture it only mentions the figure on the little sign. You'd think if they were offering the whole shebang it would mention that.

I think they should have done this as a 1/6 scale figure or in addition to the 1:12, do a 1/6 scale figure. I realize that part of the appeal is the incredible amount of detail on such a small scale. However, imagine the detail they could achieve with a 12 inch figure in Black and white. Even if the sculpt was the same, just larger, it would still be magnificent.

I'm not sure, Glenn.  This company is known for their dioramas,  that's why they do figures on a smaller scale.  I really like the size . I have enough 12" figures.

You can never have enough 1/6 figures. Well, unless your entire house is full and you have to buy another house just to live in. ;D

EDITORMFTV: I would like it if the mix and match between color and b/w pieces that previews shows was what I can buy. Then he can be displayed either color or black and white...Feel me?

Why the heck are so many people confused by this question is the real question.

Nope, still have just the one room packed. Still have a little floor space left, but not much. Haven't gone into other rooms yet.

GG, I was told by the Mezco representative (who sounded knowledgeable about what he was talking about) at Comic-Con that there was a "good chance" the diorama would be sold WITH the figure next year.  My guess is that the B&W version sold out quicker than expected, so this would be a good reason to put more into production.  Maybe the Mezco guy on this board can shed more light on this, and whether other Universal Monsters are being looked at for future release.

Mord

They initially mentioned that they were doing a whole line of Universal monsters  (not sure about Dracula,  though).

Thanks for the info. This would change how I spend my money. Depending on price I would much prefer the figure with this diorama. That would be awesome.  :)

Wolfman

A must have with that diorama.

I will wait and see a production model in person. I do not like this figure as well as the larger figure that was promised by whatever company that was a couple of years ago, though, and it was supposed to be about the same price.

That was the 18" figure by DST that looked about a third as good as this one. It had an ultra skinny body (like others in that series), inaccurate facial sculpt, and badly sized clothing. The only thing it had going for it was the cheap price (which probably made in unfeasible to produce).

That one failed at wholesale, but was actually solicited. DST repurposed the head and hand sculpts into their vinyl bank, which is why the Frankie bank doesn't hold up to the rest.

I'm very excited by the Mezco line b&w, color, possible diorama, and I'd dig a GID too!
