October 5th:  Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman (1943)

What the deuce!  It's another Lugosi picture...  Not on purpose, folks... honest.

Oh, what the heck! Do a 31 days of Bela. ;D

Even with all of it's faults, or inconsistencies,  Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man is still one of my favorite Universal sequels.

Can't argue.  It only took me 5 days to plop it in.

Now... back to "31 Days of Bela"... I'm compiling a list NOW.
If nothing else, I will watch only Bela on his birthday.  All Bela.  All day.

October 1st:  Son of Frankenstein (1939)
October 2nd:  The Devil Bat (1940)
October 3rd:  Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
October 4th:  Night Monster (1942)
October 5th:  Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman (1943)
October 6th:  Night of the Living Dead (1968)

What!  A movie without Bela Lugosi!!?  Full disclosure:  I dated a girl in college who looked like Barbara.  I never had the guts to tell her that because once I told her that her dad looked liked Goldfinger----and she was not appreciative.   ::).   I also had a guy who was a dead ringer (pun intended) for Bill Hinzman on my paper route.  He threw me off his porch when I deployed a whoopie cushion the day I did my collections.  Yeah.  I tick a lot of people off. ::).   I always had a thing for Helen.  I still scream at the screen when Judy goes off script and runs out to join Tom in the truck on the gas pump mission.  Then her freaking jacket gets stuck after truck catches fire.  But then she says in the cutest voice imaginable  "my jacket's caught" (think Marilyn Monroe in "Some Like It Hot" drunk on champagne) and I forgive her even as the truck explodes killing her and Tom.  And Harry Cooper was such a good jerk bag.  You just wanted Ben to punch him in the face and shoot him---and then he did.  Ahhh, if Ben had only NOT put the torch right near the gas refill, because, naturally Tom had to spill more gas than a toddler does milk trying to pour from a gallon container... Dammit, Tom!!  Perhaps Ben wishes he had called out to the rescue crew instead of stupidly peaking out the window before catching one between the eyes.  Still a great movie.

I remember the first time I saw NOTLD. Me and a friend and our dates at the drive-in horrorthon, all freaked out by the level of gore we hadn't witnessed, before, at the cinema.

I can't tell you how many times my DVD winds up playing that scene over & over (some sort of defect, I'm sure).

Look at the male zombie staring at her. I bet he's rethinking whether to eat the living or dead. lol

That bit of nudity was probably sensationalistic back in the '60s, but it's just an interesting sidenote now. Of course, for the people on the shoot it may have been interesting in a different way.  ;D

I was only 9 years old when NOTLD came out, and didn't see it until years later on TV. They cut that little nude bit out for tube viewing. Otherwise the prudes would have stormed the TV station.

I wonder who that naked lady zombie was anyway, and how they talked her into being the only naked person there for the pittance they were paid.  ???

Well it was the sixties. Running around naked came naturally for a lot of folks back then. Peace, Love, Dope brother!  :)

Yeah, not much of a difference between the zombies in NOTLD and the crowd at Woodstock. lol

Note the one zombie who is staring at the nude.  They probably had to throw him off set.  "Lou!!!  For the 100th time-----you are a mindless ZOMBIE.  You're not YOU at the Satellite Lounge on Saturday night!!!"
