Here's an example of a pic I just took with my amateurish photo booth as described above. My trusty Canon a590 at full resolution (8 megs), macro, no flash. The pic comes out sized at 3264 by 2448. Any photo program, in my case its ten year old presto image folio, resized to 888 by 666, cropped and sharpened a bit, and I'm done. After you done it awhile you can get all that I've said done on the pc in a minute or 2. You can even do better with shadows and back ground if you experiment enuff. You have alot of cool stuff to take pics of!

Then I need to make a little photo shoot area and shoot the items up close one at a time with good lighting on macro. Seems obvious now, but for some reason I thought I could get decent pics by just randomly shooting at my shelves full of junk....

FUTOGRUFFY HARRD....

Thanks for the help, friend. I guess I will have to work a little to get good shots. :)

Some use "controlled" flash and whatnot but I haven't tried that. Not sure my camera has it, being a basic model as such. Anyhow try a few methods, you'll find one you like.

Not sure if the Silly Surfers were a later generation of the Nutty Mads or the Weird-ohs....don't really care. I lump all that cool stuff together to keep it simple...ha! This is my Hodad Makin the Scene with a 6-pak painting...done by Mr. William Campbell. Given to me in 1993.

Weird-Ohs. Like the Weird-Ohs the Silly Surfers were model kits.

Interesting that I wasn't even aware of either the Hawk Silly Surfers (or Frantics) as a kid. I was wondering if they were even sold in my neck of the woods. It wasn't exactly surfing country where I lived.

:-\
Collecting! It's what I do!

This here is the Nutty Mad Indian with War Whoop! Pretty large size battery op! Indian rocks back and forth, sticks his tongue out and beats his drum!

Mord

Wow, this could never be released today. Great piece!

jimm

Did they do other battery ops, this one rocks! Literally...

horrorhunter

You saved me the trouble of digging out my Marx Nutty Mad Indian and posting pics, bigbud. Man, he really goes to town on that drum!

QuoteThere was the Nutty Mads 'Drincar' which is very cool

And why in the world did they title it the Drincar? I never made sense of that. This is one of the best of the Nutty Mad items for sure! When I look at mine (which sets next to my bed on the nightstand) my eyes go to the incredible images (each different) on the hubcaps...super! and check out the green leopard gloves he is wearing..far out!

Great collection horrorhunter!
