That Damn kid at the window windowing Salem' s Lot scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.  It still creeps me out... gotta' go close the curtains. :)

I think it was kind of creepy seeing the Creature from the Black Lagoon's hand come up out of the water in the beginning when they found the fossil. All you saw was that hand and herd that music. That was creepy and suspenseful, making you kind of begin to picture what the creature is going to look like. Living in Hawaii, I find myself looking down when I walk along water, watching out for that hand!!  ;)
Listen to them. Children of the Night. What music they make!

Haunted hearse

I loved the sequences where Bette Davis brought Joan Crawford her meals in "Whatever happened to Baby Jane?".
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

I agree with Salem's Lot; as it a kid it scared the heck out of me:

In terms of more vintage, the cave beast from Beast From Haunted Cave is a good choice:

Dr. Madd

Favorite horror  movie scene:

The examination scene in Son of Frankenstein- Which is still my favorite monster movie of all time.

Scariest scene: the final scene from Dawn of the Dead
Madd The Impaler-
Undeadlegend

Dr. Madd- The Original- accept no subsitutes.

Simply because we don't see it, the final scene of Island of Lost Souls is probably one of the scariest.
It's all part of the imaginary.

Wolfman

Hard to pick just one, but I'm going with the end scene from Satan's Triangle, when Kim Novak wore that creepy smile just before turning into the priest. Still freaks me out to this day.

I agree. Creepy.

You mean like this...

The oversized mouth was a little unnerving, then later turning into Marcy Darcy on Married With Children.... the horror...

That scene from "The Fly" stuck in my head like a Lawn Jart when I was a kid. VERY effective and creepy!
We're all here because we're not all there.

I always enjoyed this scene from House on Haunted Hill. To this day, it really stands up to a good scare. The witch floating out is very creepy, indeed!

Old Woman Ghost Scene in House on Haunted Hill (1959)

It shook a few bowls of popcorn for sure. Still very effective.
