I wondered what the current average price was on these nowadays.

All I know, is that they're a lot less than the Hasbro sets!  ;D

I had been looking for this item in good condition for a long time. Does anyone remember the CED Videodiscs (not laserdiscs), that strange piece of American video technology that competed with Beta & VHS in the early 1980's? Basically it was an analogue video LP record. But enough about history. This is, in my opinion, hands-down the BEST artwork for any video release of the 1931 film! Eventually, I plan to frame it. Just for the record, a Frankenstein CED disc was also released. However, it is as bad as the Dracula one is good; they just slapped a close-up B&W photo of Karloff's monster on it and called it a day.

I remember those well. My friend had a player and a few movies. They would develop skips just like audio LP's. Cool item though.

That is nice art.  I can't make out the name.  Who is the artist?

What are the dimensions of these?  Do they fit in a record album frame?

Looks like Walter Velez.

Yes, you are correct; the artist is Walter Velez from 1983. The dimensions of the piece are 12 3/4" W x 14" H so it won't fit in a typical LP frame, I am going to have to do some kind of custom framing. I'm not sure if I want to split the plastic sleeve apart so I can display the front and back simultaneously.

By the way, here is the artwork for the Frankenstein CED; it's okay, but nothing to write home about...

this past friday a friend sent me these photographs.

he was at an antique store and found this grouping of old super 8 films.
knowing that i collect old film - he wanted to know if i was interested in these.
ABOSOLUTELY!!! i couldn't reply back to him fast enough!

well, it ended up working out quite well. he was able to pick them up for me at a really great price.

these films are in fantastic condition and all the inserts are still inside the boxes as well.
its like they were sealed in a time capsule or something.
i don't even think that they've ever even been watched before.

so, naturally.. i dragged out the old projector last night and watched a few of them.

it was a ghoulishly great evening.
i am really happy to now have these films in my collection.

Oh man, congratulations on a great score! The graphics on those Super 8 boxes put those on present day DVDs to shame.

Beautiful artwork. I've got an old An American Werewolf in London videodisc laying around somewhere. I mostly used it for display before I moved, simply because the artwork looked cool.
