Conan the Destroyer  &  The Last Starfighter - Rivoli - New York State, New York - 1984

The Last Starfighter......classic. Conan the Destroyer,  not so much.

                                 Jaws - Pix - Los Angeles, California - 1975 - B - By Night

The little Pix Theater was the "Exclusive Area Engagement" premier for Jaws.  If you are wondering where the crowds are, the night scene has a "This Performance SOLD OUT" sign by the ticket booth.

           Performances continuing until 4 A.M.

They sure don't dress up the theater fronts like they did in the old days.

Fascinating theater. It opened in December 1917, and was demolished in 1987. What a shame. It is a fascinating piece of architecture.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

Jaws - State - Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1975

It's always fun seeing the anxious faces of expectant audiences from so long ago.  I imagine that seeing a film about a rogue Great White was even more exciting to Australian audiences.

How many people could not return to the beach a year later without hearing that heartbeat music playing in the background of their imaginations?

The film JAWS was a phenomenon when it first opened in Las Vegas theaters, 1975.
For some strange reason,  it impacted people living in Vegas and their view of going in to the water. Which is very weird. Considering Lake Mead, is a lake.....duh. I guess some don't understand or are ignorant to fact of Lake Mead being a freshwater Lake.

Horror of Dracula & Thing That Couldn't Die, The - Brick Drive-In - Laurelton, New Jersey, 1958

I know motels and drive-ins never look great in the daylight - but, this place is just plain dismal.

(Necking teenagers probably didn't mind all that much.)
