The Last Days On Mars, 2013 - The day before a scientific team must depart Mars, one of their crew discovers fossilized evidence of life.  The thrill of discovery threatens to turn into the agony of defeat.

Stars Live Schreiber, Elias Koteas,  Romola Garai, Goran Kostic and Olivia Williams.

The unrealistically selfish decisions by some characters are offset by the overall good acting and beautiful cinematography.

Not bad.

Lorre's big speech is much better in German, than in English, for some reason.

I'm glad that's the version I saw then.

I Think We're Alone Now, 2018 - The last man alive sets up a daily routine of obsessive tidiness in his town of formerly 1600 inhabitants.  He appears well-adjusted to his new life - Until he sees something out of the usual in the distance.

Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning.

I love the way this movie begins.  I could even see myself adopting the man's living quarters and way of living - on a somewhat more limited scope.  But he displays way too little curiosity about the origin of the 2nd character and how such a young person had survived.  He has evidently been living alone for a long time.

I would be sorely tempted to rid myself of the town's new addition.

Glad I finally got to see this one.  (Guess I'll never be completely satisfied with a Last Man story unless I write it myself.)

Mansion of the Doomed, 1976 - Distraught doctor attempts to restore his blind daughters sight by taking it away from others in the crudest way possible.

Richard Basehart, Gloria Grahame.

Hard to believe this wasn't made in 1956.  So bad it was released under at least 3 other titles.  Even the DVD looks awful.

I fell asleep during this one - twice!

I didn't know Gloria Grahame was still around (or working anyway) in the '70s?

I remember her from her '40s and '50s movies, but can't say I ever saw her in anything later than that.

Check out "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool". Great film that centers around her last few years. She exemplifies the classic "femme fatale".

I had a crush on her ever since I saw her in "It's a Wonderful Life".

Same here. She was one of the most sexually fascinating actresses of her time. Check her out in "In a Lonely Place"( with Humphrey Bogart ). Its probably her best performance, and a fine slice of film noir.
