Great lineup. Big fan of Creature from the Haunted Sea. Love the silliness - especially the monster.

Thanks. Yep, I've always gotten a kick out of it.  The funny, crazy dialogue really holds up.

Last on my list of not available on DVD poverty row horrors. (I'll probably find some more.)

CHAMBER OF HORRORS (1940) at Dailymotion

Monogram distributed this UK feature version of the Edgar Wallace novel "The Door with Seven Locks". Good mystery story with minimal horrors (OK, none), starring Leslie Banks and Lilli Palmer. The second Wallace adaption, after Lugosi's "Dark Eyes of London" (The Human Monster).

Never been a big fan of Henry. I love Michael Rooker and it's obviously a good film but it's so bleak! I remember the first time I saw it, wasted in the early hours in my early twenties. It's one of those films that sticks in your head for a few days after seeing it.

Honestly, I can see why majority of people who would never want to watch this and those who have and would never again.
There is one particular scene in Henry, that still disturbs me. However, I absolutely  love the film. Bleak?! Most definitely. But so were- Last House on the Left, Night of the Living Dead, The Crazies and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  REAL- Henry: Portait of a Serial Killer. That is what is so unique about the film. The film feels almost like a documentary. Gritty, violent, unopologetic and dirty. I actually feel sorry for Henry and Otis.
They are almost like Anti-Heroes.

It is a powerful piece of cinema for sure, but I never found myself rooting for Henry and Otis. The movie is bereft of humour imo. I can handle bleak, as long as there's a splash of humour here and there. Bad Lieutenant is incredibly bleak, and Harvey Keitel is a total scumbag, but he is at least capable of redemption, and there are laughs between all the chaos and self destruction. Henry is just a little too real for me haha

Now I'm doing Columbia Studios films not on DVD. First up:

NIGHT OF TERROR (1933) at Dailymotion

Fun mystery/horror (mad killer with a monstery face) with Bela Lugosi as the only really familiar actor. He plays the (Hindu?) servant of a wealthy man who is yet another victim of the mad killer (who stabs people in the back)! There's a scientist testing his miracle formula, secret passages and other ODH goin's on, greedy relatives waiting for their cut of the estate, a grating Lee Tracy type reporter and really stupid cops, an unlikely hero and one wacky assed post script!
