"Source Code" - 2011

This is not a movie to put on the DVD player while you are working a jigsaw puzzle.  It requires a bit more of your attention than that.

Knew very little about this film at the start.  By the time I understood the basic sit-up, I was resigned to an extremely dark, disturbingly dystopian end.  I was completely caught off guard by the resolution of the movie.

I like being surprised by a filmmaker.

This may be a bit of a cheat but, I was in a Jules Verne mood.
A Wednesday Marathon:

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 1954.
Mysterious Island 1961.
Journey to the Center of the Earth 1959.
Master of the World 1961.

In-between the films I listened to the Paul Smith score for 20,000 Leagues. The Bernard Herrmann score for Mysterious Island, and the Herrmann score for Journey to the Center of the Earth. So the marathon took all day. It was great!

Is that the one where the killer throws his victims down an elevator shaft?

No.  It is about a pizza delivery guy who is a serial killer.  His brother is played by Kevin Pollak.  The mother and father of his latest victim are played by Daniel Stern and Ileana Douglas.

It is a kidnap and revenge movie of the most interesting sort.
