That would make a neat little package. Are all 10 PRCs PD?

A few years ago a friend and I traded copies of monster flicks we needed that the other one had. Pretty sure I have all 10 either on a legit release or a copy. My favorites are The Devil Bat (1940) (natch!  ;)) and The Strangler Of The Swamp (1946). Rosemary La Planche was very good.

I would have o say that my favorites from PRC are DEAD MEN WALK, STRANGLER OF THE SWAMP, THE DEVIL BAT and FOG ISLAND.. :)

Now that I look, there are 11. All PD. I'm missing the last 4.

The Devil Bat (1940 Lugosi)
The Mad Monster (1942 Zucco)
Dead Men Walk (1943 Zucco)
The Black Raven (1943 Zucco)
The Monster Maker (1944 Strange)
Bluebeard (1944 Carradine)
Fog Island (1945 Zucco, Atwill)
Strangler of the Swamp (1946)
The Flying Serpent (1946 Zucco)
Devil Bat's Daughter (1946)
The Brute Man (1946 Rondo - Produced by Universal)

The Flying Serpent is a kind of remake of The Devil Bat with George Zucco in the Lugosi role, only with him putting a feather from the title creature on the victims rather than the aftershave of the original. Strangler Of the Swamp is great, Devil Bat's Daughter has a completely nonsensical story and The Brute Man is Rondo's last hurrah as the Creeper.

I thought you were leaving out The Brute Man because it was produced by Uni. That's the one I don't have.

I may have? I always think of it as a Universal movie.

Mike...In 3-D!

The House On Haunted Hill (1959)
City of the Dead (1960)*
The Last Man On Earth (1964)

*I finally watched the new bluray release of City of the Dead. The copy I owned was on one of those budget multi-packs. This is a tremendous upgrade from what I previously had. It's crisp and clean, save for one spot in the film where it seems to revert a little for a second or two.

I have the VCI DVD of The City Of The Dead and I still may get that Blu-ray. The most important thing is simply having the uncut original film instead of the cut PD version which has made the rounds as Horror Hotel. I like this film so much I'll probably grab that BD at some point.

I saw Hugo yesterday. I'd barely heard of it, but my heart took a leap when the story revealed that Ben Kingsley was portraying George Melies. I highly recommend this film.

Good flick! I saw it at WM for $5. Think I'll pic it up and add it to the Scorsese collection.
