"Well friends, that's all there is to life: just a little laugh, a little tear." - Prof. Echo (Lon Chaney, Sr.)

'Night Of Dark Shadows' (1971)
-David Selby, Kate Jackson

,  Lara Parker

Plot:
Painter Quentin Collins and his wife Tracy inherit and move into the ancestral Collins mansion and find themselves plaqued by the ghosts of his ancestors who usec to be witches

Phantoms Review: While this movie is well acted and atmospheric , it's a bit slow moving and more than a little incoherent due to some 11th hour editing done by the studio to make the film run 94 minutes.
Still, the story is interesting,  it's well directed and shot. I hope one day a fully restored version will appear and we can see this film the way it was intended.

Phantom Stranger

'Curse Of The Undead' (1959)
-Michael Pate, Eric Fleming

Plot:
Mysterious gunfighter for hire Drake Robey is really a vampire, and it's up to the town preacher to save the citizens and his girlfriend.

Phantoms Review:  This is one of my annual Halloween movie treats. It appeals to both the horror and western fan in me. While it's definitely a "B" movie, the film treats it's respective genres very respectfully.  It's smartly written, has a great atmospheric feel to it , and has a wonderful, spooky music score. Filled with recognizable western character actors, who do a fine job. This film is worth watching.

"Bug", 1975, starring Bradford Dillman, Joanna Miles, and lots of cockroaches. Based on the Thomas Page novel "The Hephaestus Plague".
"That's either a very ugly woman or a very pretty monster." - Lou Costello

"Your father was Frankenstein, but your mother was the lightning."

Watched Terminator and T2 back to back this weekend. Think T1 is the best, though the baddie is really good in T2. Its mostly the too cool for school John Connor that ruins it for me.

I love both but T1 is also my fave. I like Arnold as the evil bad-ass.

'Horror Of Dracula' (1958)

Phantoms Review:  Nothing I can that hasn't been said before,  brilliant, amazing, classic.

Witchfinder General (okay, it was actually The Conqueror Worm, same movie but I like the Brit title better), last night.  Brilliant performance by Vincent Price.
"Sometimes I have wondered whether life wouldn't be much more amusing if we were all devils, no nonsense about angels and being good."
