"Silent Night Deadly Night"- Classic 80s slasher with Santa doing the dirty deeds. Cheezy goodness. Loved the 70s interiors!! PANELING RULES!!  ;D

"Monstroid"- 80s cheezer about the usual greedy corporation polluting the water hole of some sleepy Mexican village, leading to the inevitable monster in the lake. Pretty bad looking monster, pretty bad acting, pretty bad script. But unintentionally funny enough to make it enjoyable.

I'll tell ya Steve, I'm vacillating between doing a media room in a haunted castle motif or a retro 60s-70s room. I thought I was set on the castle until I saw all that 70s decor. Now I'm not sure again  ;D

Couldn't make it through Amityville........but I do like "Insidious". The ending leaves something to be desired, but this movie scared me at points like I was 8 years old again!

just watched INSIDIOUS.  WOW!  You called that one spot on scatter. The first half of the show was intense. But it did lose its way a bit at the end. But still a cool show. One of the best new horror shows made lately for sure.

All 3 of these movies are classics. It is ashame that the 3rd one received poorly by fans just because it didn't have michael myers. Underrated Movie Due to its Name.

Phantom Stranger

"The Ghost And The Guest" (1943)
Plot: IMDB
A newlywed couple spend their honeymoon in their "new" house instead of going to California. They are invaded by the police, a retired hangman, an escaped prisoner, a band of crooks and several dead bodies, all looking for something, either the crook or the loot hidden somewhere in the house. a humorous mystery follows.(or not).

Phantom's Review: Another attempt to create a "Ghost-Breakers' Style comedy/Mystery. While this film does have a few bright moments, for the most part it fall pretty flat. Cheaply made and broadly acted. There is some fun dialog and good exchanges by the leads, but for the most part the film really misses it's mark. Not the worst film ever made, but not hat great either.

reason why is you were watching the 2005 one, the original 1979 flick is the great one

The last few weeks I've watched:
"Highlander" (1986): this was one of those movies that was better in my memory than it was in reality. It's not a bad film and is still enjoyable, but I have to say that I like the TV series much better.
"When a Stranger Calls" (1979): the opening 20 minutes of this movie are classic creepiness. Unfortunately, the movie kinda falls apart after that. The film makers spent way too much time trying to make the audience sympathize with the killer, and it just doesn't work.
"Babes in Toyland" (1961): this Disney film has a few cool moments, but Laurel & Hardy did it much better in the 30's.
"War-Gods of the Deep" (1965): mildly interesting, but the plot is kinda paper-thin. Watchable mostly for Vincent Price's performance.
"At the Earth's Core" (1976): silly but highly enjoyable movie, with plenty of ridiculous rubber monsters and good ol' Peter Cushing. Worth watching just for the exploding fire-breathing frog ;)
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" (2011): the end of an era. One of the few movie series that I've gone out of my way to see in theaters as they were released, and I've really enjoyed the ride. Definitely worth fighting crowds to see, although I chose the 2D version. I kinda hate 3D releases ;)
