- The Face at the Window (Count Gore)

First time seeing this movie and it was a pretty good mystery/thriller with Todd Slaughter. It is filled with murder, robbery, werewolves and mad scientists. Gore has a montage of scary faces appear in his dungeon window druing his show.

"Grizzly" (1976)

"A fifteen foot tall grizzly bear terrorizes a state park. Christopher George leaps into the carnage to stop it."

"Jaws"' runaway 1975 success spawned a plethora of imitators both on land and in the sea..............and one of the better ones was "Grizzly" starring 70s cheeze icon Chris George. Cliche'd but enjoyable romp through the woods as Grizzly shreds campers (his particular fondness for nubile young women is duly noted and deeply appreciated) as he outwits his pursuers.

The ending is as direct a rip-off of "Jaws" as can be imagined, but I enjoyed it as much this time as when I sneaked into the Drive-In to see it when I was 11 (yes, I know what you're thinking).

7 bananas.

I've seen that a few times as I have it on DVD. What a fun Schlock fest. Young Ron Howard as a boy genius. Dancing giant duck. Cheesy as hell effects. If anyone likes bad cheesy movies with teens I'd recommend this one.

Absolutely!  Lots of fun. I'm meeting Beau Bridges at Dragon Con this year...going to have to get a still from that movie autographed by him for my collection!    8)

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

The last week or so I've watched:
"Blacula" (1972): surprisingly good 70's horror film with just a dash of goofiness. I'd always heard of this movie but had never actually seen it until last week.
"Scream, Blacula, Scream" (1973): not bad, but definitely not as good as the original.
"The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" (2010): decent sequel with some cool CGI critters, but not as good as the earlier films.
"The Ninth Gate" (1999): interesting plot about a Satanic text. Not bad but the ending's a bit weak.
"Breeders" (1986): half-arsed aliens rape NYC virgins to spread their species. Easily the worst turd of a movie I've seen in ages. It's sole redeeming feature is that it's only 77 minutes long.

I watched FRANKENSTEIN...(again!) on my computer this time, and was astonished at how gorgeous it was on my HD monitor.  The only thing that didn't look good was the infamous painted backdrop.  I didn't mind that, though...it just made me think of 1920s Theatre...

Both creatures were exploded at the end when conventional rifle fire proved ineffective.
