Vote for your five favourite Hawk Weird-Ohs kits! Or do you prefer the Hawk Frantics or Silly Surfers to the Weird-Ohs?

Here's a site with good pictures of all the figures:

And there are more pictures of build-ups and other stuff in this thread:

The Silly Surfers are showing surprising strength on this board as they're now battling Digger for the lead in this poll!

After a very strong start, Davey though has fallen off the pace and has been reduced to battling for the bronze.

I voted for Davey, Francis the Foul, Freddy Flameout, Sling Rave Curvette and Wade A. Minut. It's a real log jam at the top now though:

Silly Surfers 9
Digger 9
Daddy 8
Davey 8
Endsville Eddie 7

The Silly Surfers are doing very well in this poll relative to their Weird-Ohs cousins.

It's interesting though how images for "Cowabunga! Surf's Up" and "Gremmie out of Control" appear on the cover to the LP although they were never made into model kits, while the "Hot Dogger and Surf Bunny Riding Tandem" model kit didn't make it onto the cover.

I was noticing how the BOX art
is better than the model...sometimes the sculpt is
very different!

Yes. Unlike Revell's sculpts for "Big Daddy" Roth's finks, the sculpts for the Hawk Weird-Ohs were sadly not really good reproductions of designer Bill Campbell's illustrations:

I have an affection for all of them. Mostly the nostalgia factor comes into play since I built them all, some multiple times, during my misspent youth. I built an original Sling Rave Curvette about 5 - 6 years ago. Hoooo-boy. That is one challenging little gal to try and build up and paint! Teeny pieces with little detail.

Post a picture of your build-up in this thread!

I voted for Davey. I dig his style of dress. Plus the picture of the finished piece is killer.

Yep, I went for Davey too. I had a Davey notebook. Come to think of it, I also had a Freddy Flameout notebook! Bill Campbell's art didn't have the fluidity of Roth's cadre of designers but it succeeded with a style all it's own. The model kits were kinda "stiff" looking. The Roth kits were masterpieces of sculpture (Mr. Gasser, Surfink, Batfink, etc.)

Hepcat

Batfink? Roth did a Superfink but are you sure Roth did a Batfink?
