Good idea Lester. Send me some bucks so I can get started...ha! I'll get Scatter on some fund raising too....double ha!

Scatter

OK, but Scatter takes a steep cut of all proceeds he raises. Banana prices are skyrocketing!

...not to mention the price of peanuts.

Ha! Been just at a year since a post on one of my favorite subjects....toy munitions! Well here we go again. This is a pretty cool item that is seldom seen....the Mattel Bolt Action Planet of the Apes Tommy Gun with Ape Mask. Dated 1967. The tommy gun has the cap loading drawer manufactured shut unlike most other Mattel tommy guns.....so ya just get a rat-a-tat-tat.  It has the special "aged" patina paint job that is found on the Planet of the Ape guns. Mattel also put out an Ape pistol and a rapid fire rifle that also came on a similar card like the tommy gun. But the rapid fire rifle is really little more than a short clicker gun. The Planet of the Apes tommy gun is the grand-daddy of the Mattel Ape guns!

I have never seen that, Bud. Really impressive! I love the way you casually lay it across thousands of dollars worth of vintage toys to photograph. Beautiful collection, my friend.

bigbud

Thanks Mord! I think it's surrounded by maybe acouple hundred dollars worth of stuff...ha! And, in my basement dungeon that spot on the glass case is the only room to set anything...ha!

And yours is the granddaddy of all sci-fi toy gun collections!

Thanks Hep.....but so very unworthy of me. I'm a base amateur compared to many serious sci-fi gun collectors. Check out danefield.com and view the Alphadrome Robot and Space Database to see some real stuff! Those guys are serious!

Last post on the toy guns was May 20th....what's with that! Ha! Couldn't stop by the UMA without putting up another childhood monster blaster! This is a super cool spy gun set by Marx......look at all the neat attachments this thing has!

Hi ya Hep! For many years I passed on buying this gun set cause I always found one with something missing. But it seems true that if you are patient enough a great example will surface....
