Here is a great weapon system for the backyard......this is the Clipfire .223 Combat Set AR/15 Weapon System by Ideal. Long name for such fun! Has Assault Rifle, cliploading magazine, combat badge, bayonet, grenade launcher, rocket grenade, clip belt w/clip pouch, and cap storage in the rifle's handle. Really a neat gun set.  Dated 1966. Not quite the gun that the Mattel M-16 is, but still a sweet suprise against little Billy nextdoor with his red clicker-pistol......Ha!    Buddy

Don't ask how I got this on here a second time as a quote.....I messed up somehow. I think it was them Canadianese what made me do it!  Ha!   Buddy

Hepcat

You can't fool me. You were just post whoring in turning one post into three. Admit it.

Actually Hep, you got me so paranoid about what I write that I was trying to modify the original and it burst into 2.........The second one I think has the mod............wanted to add the words "by Ideal".   Buddy

Scatter......what do ya say we recruit afew girl scouts, invade and conquer Canada and rename it Budanada? As spoils of conquest you can have Hepcat's cat and I'll carry off his comics and models. But let's wait till mosquito season is good and over up there first......Buddy

Cool!! Then we'll open a nudist ski resort and change the flag to a marijuana leaf.
We're all here because we're not all there.

My friend Frankenstein73 sold me a white mortar shell from one of his recent garage sale finds and I was able to finish off a Remco Long Range Marine Raider Mortar. This weapon is so cool! Could have the whole block ducking as you send one of these mortar shells arcing into the sky! There is a very fragile arm that folds out with a metal sight on it.......can't believe many of those sights lasted much outside play.  Buddy

Hepcat

That is very strong! You could open up on the little monsters on the other side of the back alleyway.

It looks as if it should have been part of Remco's Monkey Division line.

Wow! Looks good buddy! Nice & complete. Nothing more satisfying than completing a toy. One less thing lurking in the back of your mind, Now on to the next one!
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

Moonshadow

Hey, toy weapons experts, help me out with this. My older brother used to end all the neighborhood wars with this terrifying bazooka he had. This thing fired out hard plastic projectiles about the size of a pine cone. And when you got hit by one of these , it hurt! Any idea who made this, what it was called, or if anyone has a picture, that would be great. It would have been made sometime around mid to late 60s I believe.

Hepcat

It was probably a Remco Monkey Division or Marine Raider Bazooka similar to the Marine Raider Mortar that Bigbud posted.

Hep, I was thinking the same thing. I think Remco did several Marine Raider items but I'm not sure if it was before or after the Monkey Div. stuff.......research might dig up some dates........I'll try to find the time.....Buddy

It's all due to you, Franky73, my friend! I think that mortar sat incomplete for maybe 20 years! There wasn't any real rush.........Buddy

Hey moonshadow! I love them Bazookas! I'm bettin' your brother had a Monkey Division Long Range Bazooka by Remco Toys. This baby can really fling em! Check out the second photo.......Remco attached a substantial red metal railing to the bazooka. The cocking mechanism would put a definite hurt on Junior if the railing weren't there. It flies forward with alot of force when firing the bazooka round (bomb). My dog lives in terror!

bigbud

Moonshadow, it might also have been this bazooka by Marx....and you guys and gals check out the second photo.......What's with that? We suppose to believe Mr. Soldier is holding a bazooka? No, no, no! That's just wrong!   Buddy

bigbud

A third possibility is the Hillman Bazooka with very colorful shells. The happy, cheerful colored bombs might dull Mom's anger when hitting little brother in the eye with a full bazooka load!   Buddy
