Absolutely.  That is the only way these movies and characters will continue.

The truly frightening thing is the number of kids who aren't even really aware of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers.  Those characters have replaced the Universal Monsters in the Halloween aisles, yet they are nearly out of the consciousness of young people.  They are now considered "classic monsters," and their original films "almost unwatchable."   **shudders**

So I am setting out to help the kids who can be saved.   :)

That makes me want to vomit. Still, with the internet, there is hope that classic horror can stay in the consciousness of young people.

There's some hope there, but Universal really needs to tap into the market.  Maybe the online Universal Monster game will do that.  But I don't know what the Internet can do about the Black and White situation.  Lots of people (even adults) refuse to watch anything that is in black and white.  Don't ask me why...  But I have heard it many times.  And as much as it pains me to say...  Colorize the monsters if it will save them.  I won't watch them in color (Okay, maybe once), but there are a lot of people who won't watch them in their present state.   :'(

That's especially sad considering that studies prove horror movies to be more effective when in black and white.

Oh so that's what happened to the genre!   ;D    I had been wondering for years why they just weren't as good as they used to be.  Now I know.   ;)

But that is seriously cool.  Which study was this?  I'd love to read more.

I can't remember who conducted it off the top of my head, but I've heard it fifty times in my various film classes :P

It also found that people enjoyed comedies more when in color. I'm a fan of the Marx Brothers, A&C, but eh, I guess I get why.

Personally i like all forms of Horror. I maybe the only person i know personally who will be watching a silent film then a classic universal and move on to slasher and some of the more modern stuff. I just love it all.

Miss. Dead 13 is 112 years old, I think she is a vampire... being chased down by somebody, a vampire killer. Maybe that's why Miss. dead 13 is moving around...

She must using some kind of secret sunblock that keeps her from melting from the sun...

I wonder... hmm...
Collecting? It's what I do!

BigShadow

Just remember, age is nothing but a number so that we can try and define how long we've lived on this earth.  I've seen, as I'm sure you all have, 30 yo who look and act like 60 yo and 50 yo who can run circles around 20 yo.  I'm 31, a good friend of mine that I work out with is 56.  This guy can put me and just about everyone else I know to shame.  He has a positive personality, eats healthy, and completes 2-3 triathlons a year and always, always ranks in the top 5 for his age and the top 10-15 overall.  Truely an insperation that defies a number.  Then you see some 20 yo who look like they're ready for the heap.  So, to me this number means nothing, the qualities of a person are what really matter.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity...

miss dead is so old , she forgot how old she really is  , combined with the fact that Ive been lying about it since I was a kid..
i lied when i was young, wanting to be older.. .than i got older and started lying that i was younger..
now i just have no clue.
same goes for the color of my hair. its black and pink. thats all i know. its been that way for 112 years.

screw the sunblock. i cant go in the sun at all, or i start to sizzle. I dont do sun. period.  which is why i look so young :)
I dont even crack the coffin till the sun goes down, unless absolutely necessary,{ and those days end up being very long horrible days :(  }

vampire. no.
gypsy perhaps !! hence the moving around , to and fro, here and there.
monsterkid. most definitely.
old people running circles around people half their age... absolutely.
people never believe im in my 30s. i get carded every single day of my life.
i chalk it up to never having smoked a cig. in my life,
avoiding the sun at all costs  ( parasols were made for a reason )
lots of fun, toys, monsters, running around like a kid in every toy section of whatever store im at,
and doing cartwheels in the grass is always fun. i still do it anytime the moment presents itself !
im old enough to know better, but young enough to do it anyways & enjoy every second of it!!

if youre not having fun, you are not doing it right !!!!

Somehow, I don't see you being a parasol user . . .Not that there is anything wrong with that. ::)

And all that sparkling stuff . . .

In my day we didn't use the cheap sparkly lotions for that look.

No, we used plain old-fashioned Radium.  Or, if we came into some extra cash, some Plutonium.

Young punks . . .

Oh wait!  This isn't the over 40 thread!

Dang!

Never mind . . .
