Sean and Wicked Lester--- There was a recent documentary about television shows and there was a segment in it about Mannix and how innovative it was for crime dramas. I didn't see the documentary but I read about it in the paper.

Very cool, Mono.... I wish I had seen it.

I used to watch Tarzan a lot.  I just realized that the quick shot of the elephant looks like an Asian elephant.  Either that or they clipped an African elephant's ears like a Doberman!

Rob

It probably is an Asian elephant, they are much easier to train and probably easier to get footage of.

Poor Richard Long was only 40 when he died ...  :(

Bourbon Street Beat TV Intro
"There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats" ...  Albert Schweitzer

Jim Bertges

This one's a little more modern, but still a great theme and opening sequence.
Tales from the Crypt intro
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.

Unknown Primate

" Would you believe? "  This opening theme is still cool?!

Get Smart TV show intro

" Perhaps he dimly wonders why, there is no other such as I. "

Unknown Primate

This is from a very short-lived series I really liked.  The title says, SAM CADE, but it was actually called CADE'S COUNTY.  Just really dug the 70's sound in the opening theme.

sam cade cade's county
" Perhaps he dimly wonders why, there is no other such as I. "

Yeah, I loved Richard Long.

Funny, Richard's wife used to say the same thing. 8)

There was a show called 'The Lawman' with a great BAD theme song.  I think they wrote in 5-6 minutes and just said 'Lawman' a lot.  I can't find a copy to play here, though. >:(

Flower

"There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats" ...  Albert Schweitzer

RICKH

Sean, I looked for the Lawman theme as well and could not find it.  The series is running on Dish's Western channel.
You can't kill the boogeyman.  Halloween (1978)

Flower,
Yes Richard Long died way too young.   :'(  However whenI saw his name I thought you were going to say Nanny and the Professor.  You're probably to young to know.  That one.

I remember Nanny and the Professor! My mom had a big crush on Richard Long. That's why we also used to watch The Big Valley too -for him and also because my mom really liked Barbara Stanwyck too.

Monolith

I used to watch Nanny and the Professor. I have a Nanny and the Professor viewmaster set.
