Mannix Theme (Stereo)

One of my fave cop shows of the 70's.

OK... a few things about Mannix.  I loved Mannix so much that I wanted MY name to be Mike Connors.  Looking at the opening credits, the theme song is ridiculous.  That is 'dusting the crystal' music-----NOT 'judo chopping a helicopter music'.... Whatever they were PAYING Mannix------it wasn't enough.  He's diving off of bridges, riding in coal mine cars, Indian leg-wrestling the Chupacabra.... it's obscene....and then, after dueling evil all day with nary a scratch, he mishandles hot toast and hurts himself (seriously, look at the opening again).

 8) I don't have the theme song but I was just singing to my granddaughter:

"It's Howdy Dody Time,
It's Howdy Dody Time."

Yeah to Howdy, Clarabelle - a.k.a. Captain Kangaroo and Cowboy Bob Smith(?).  :-\   thrhrt
The children of the night.  What music they make!

Sean and Wicked Lester--- There was a recent documentary about television shows and there was a segment in it about Mannix and how innovative it was for crime dramas. I didn't see the documentary but I read about it in the paper.

Used to watch this one all the time. I think season 2 had a different theme.

Tarzan (1966 TV)

I used to watch Tarzan a lot.  I just realized that the quick shot of the elephant looks like an Asian elephant.  Either that or they clipped an African elephant's ears like a Doberman!

Rob, They only used Indian elephants!  :o  African elephants are larger and Protected as an endangered spices.  Indian elephants will probably be put on the list because of their shrinking, natural habitat.  :-X  thrhrt
