I'd settle for driving into San Francisco on such a nice day.

How about the other way into Oakland, the home of the Athletics, Raiders and the Hell's Angels?

This is coming from Marin to SF, its the Bay Bridge for SF to Oakland. I went to more A's games as a kid than Giants as Dad worked in the East bay. I'd take a bus to Oakland and meet Dad there.

I've really enjoyed the pictures that have been posted on this thread!  It really brings back great childhood memories.  I've finally tracked down several pictures of my room from 1964 so I'll go ahead and throw my pictures  into the mix.  Oh yeah, I should mention the paint job on my walls... I loved anything to do with the army, war, etc., so my mom "camouflaged" my room.  I thought it was super cool!

wow thats so awesome!
It's all about the Horror.

To me, these are the quintessential Monster Kid pics of the era, just perfect.

Here's Dad at the 1964 World's Fair. Not sure which I like better the Dinosaurs or the giant tire Ferris Wheel. It was moved to Michigan later I'm told, not sure if it still exists. They actually made a toy of it too!

L'il RICKH looks like he is ready to invade Poland!

Except that is an M1 Garand.
I had one just like it.
Wore it out defending the neighborhood--good times.

Great pics.

The Big Tire still exists--although it is no longer a ferris wheel.

Here's my older brother and I goofing around in our folks mod late 60s pad, I've got the boss robot in this pic (will cost me at least 1/2 a G for a nice one, if I can even find one, been looking for a couple years for this particular one...)

Funny, besides the toys, the couch, and the lamp I can account for the rest of the stuff!
