Indeed I will because I'm weak and bought the boxset too. I really hope the packaging is well done.

Quote from: MadCow on July 26, 2024, 07:00:32 AMA little of both. I think a lot of people slept on them (myself included) and they're also not completely out yet. I don't think many of the pre-orders have been filled yet. I'm just going to wait it out until NECA does their inevitable re-releases.

Speaking of re-release, I'm pretty pissed that they're doing a boxset of the BK figures. The coffin looks amazing and should have come with Drac. Also it sounds like they're doing custom packaging to look like the display that was used in BK during the promotion. This leads me to believe that the figures won't come with the re-sealable baggies or the stickers so that's a plus. That being said, I'm a sucker and will still probably end up ordering these too.

Thanks. I ordered the two Walmart exclusives through eBay. I just don't do the toy runs anymore like I used to. I hope I can get some of the others eventually.

I don't believe Universal Monsters ever had an in-store display for those figures at Burger King. Think it was just a poster

Unless I'm wrong I don't recall in all these years seeing the in store display?

That's all I recall, for the U.S. In the UK there was a kids meal type box and a paper mask.

The poster and the plastic drive-thru sign must be what they are referencing. TMK, there was no lobby display like McDonalds typically makes (made?). And by TMK, I was around at the time and moving across the country, stopping at Burger Kings in hopes the Creature was released and an unused set of the window cling graphics (which do not feature the toys, but the Monster and Wolf Man illustrations).

Theres a four page Kid's Club magazine sized newsletter and, as Mike notes, the UK (and or possibly Europe) got at least one style of meal box and a set of four masks, plus their version of the Creature comes with a cardboard punch out set of targets which include a sunken Rita. But I've never heard of any in-store display from anywhere in the world.

The box I have has Creature on one side and WM on the other, so I assume there was a Frank/Drac box. Seems like I saw one for sale, a long time ago. Wish I had that thing with the Rita on it!

I think they may go the route of their Monster breakfast box now available at Walmart's collectors spots.

Using the BK art from the toys packages, from the Uni Studios monster style guides of that year, as the designs around this same type boxing.  It could hold all figures.

Sad they offer the generic Dracula, rather than the Lugosi head, the original BK toy was generic, wonder if a Lugosi replacement head would fit on this body?

This "Freakie Meal"?

It's not a NECA product.

That head is the gimmick. I believe it's just the color Dracula body with a head based on the BK figure, itself just a product of the 1997-ish style guide.

There's not much to it, but it's fun and too bad they didn't include it with the US version. I don't remember if it came with the Canadian version, but I don't *think* so.

I take it all you get is what's in the first photo, not the burger box, kids meal box, etc.

I'd like a hamburger with mine.
I'm with the poster that has a hard time understanding the interest in a re-do if the originals are selling cheaper-- but hey they are neat designs and I'm always glad when you guys get excited for something even if its not for me.

Uh... no. You get all the pictured items. The set comes in the kid's meal type box, and the items are in the burger box, drinking cup, etc.

I got the "Remco" glow Nosferatu today. I think it's odd that they are selling this with a Universal Monster trademark on the packaging.
